Frostbike 2010: EYEbmx

EyeBMX is a new brand that you should be hearing more about in the coming weeks and months. Erik Engstrom is the head of the project though another race brand. Erik had the prototype Eye Q (get it?) frame out to show off and let people know about what’s coming. Check out some closer photos of the frame and expect to hear more right here on BMXunion soon!

Eye cut out..

If you notice, the seat tube is too short for a clamp, and doesn’t have a integrated clamp. Why? Because every frame will come with the Animal wedge post. That’s a pretty cool concept to work with.

From my understanding, these frames will be made through Quamen bikes, and there are parts, and accessories as well. The team is already rolling, and news will be coming soon about all of that..

Well we will just have to wait and see where this brand ends up in about a year. My guess is down the drain just like your bmx carer

i would say before you put that frame out tapper the seat stays and chain stays it will flow into the drop outs better and give the frame a clean look also clean the tubes before you weld it looks good though

I agree with tapering the seat and chainstays. It shouldn’t weaken the frame any, but im no pro at frame building. Also recommend either build in seat clamp or no seatpost tube at all. Would look real clean with animal wedge post. Thanks and good luck

are any of the frames going to be cold treated? What are the benefits of cold treating? Any other frame geometry in the works? any other parts? estimated release on anything?

Jimmy, It was owned by Answer, which was sold to another company some months ago. The guy who owned Answer still owns Drive to the best of my knowledge, and I wish that guy all the luck in the world with whatever direction he goes in life. I just work for a different bike company now, so I’m working on this new brand for my new employer. I’m real happy to be where I am now, making parts in California and elsewhere, starting a new team, etc… My boss’ over here are bmx legends, and have done some big things in regards to riding and business, both. I’m psyched, even if some kids are haters because I have worked for racers. These people all care a lot about Bmx, so I’m happy to be given this new oppertunity, and I am going to do my best to make parts I can believe in. Thanks for asking.

Shane, These bikes are heat treated. They are also oil bathed, which is another feature that increases strength.

Yes we are working on other parts. I will have info rolling out, asap.

They 3 sizes of frames are on sale in about 1 week, and pre-orders are open now. Of course, we will not take any money for the frames, until they ship, but they can be ordered through any bike shop, and we will contact the shop when we are ready to ship. Shops can call VSI (Distro) @ 562-381-9128. A majority of Bmx shops in America already buy from VSI, so this is an easy to order item.

    Thank you,

    Erik E

These frames are in stock now, just waiting on stickers and brake lugs, which are in route as well. Then we have do do a little packaging, and things will start moving. All in about a week…

Great read… This was my First time to this site. Appreciate you for sharing this. I am going to subscribe to this blog. I am a truck mechanic for five years. Our do-it-yourself tip of the week is this: Please don’t try a exotic repair by yourself. This most likely will cost you additional money in the end. Thank you once again!

Normally truthful? Apart from the Obama individuals here have long ceased to have a debate – alternatively they annoy other posters instead of keeping to the challenges. And if you are reading this, they have created a screen name on here very close to my own to copy and harass. That isn’t debate either.
