We’re not crazy about the vlogs, but we are pretty interested in learning new things and this video that Jonny Lee put out is pretty interesting. The other day he showed us the 3D Printed Sprocket he made, now today we get a look at the process it takes to create a BMX part from a 3D printer, using a BMX stem as an example. There are two videos to this. The first explains a little bit about the process that went into the design, then he talks about the different styles of 3D printers that are available. This one is a little hard to follow if you aren’t too tech savy, but it’s pretty interesting. The second shows the final product, a 3D Printed BMX stem, along with a little bit of footage from a session where he puts it to the test. Pretty wild. Take a look and let us know what you think in the comments below!
“After how well the 3D printed sprocket video was received (and after how much fun I had making it) I decided to try something else. I’m 3D printing a stem, and in part one of two videos regarding the stem I go into 3d printing technologies, the process of making the parts, and how I design them in the first place.” – Jonny Lee
