BMX Spoke Calculator

Need help figuring out what size spokes you need for your BMX wheels? Here’s a BMX Spoke Calculator that should be able to help you figure out what size spokes you need for your BMX wheels.

Our friends at Manyfest BMX over in Poland have hooked us up with a BMX tool that we think will help out a ton of BMX riders. There’s nothing worse than breaking a bunch of spokes or planning to build up a new wheel set and not knowing what size spokes you need. Luckily, this super useful BMX Spoke Calculator is available to help you figure out just what spoke size you need! This already has a ton of different hubs and rims, but as always, there are new hubs and rims becoming available all the time. This calculator offers spoke sizes for 3-cross and 4-cross spoke patterns.

Need help building up your wheel? Here’s a video show you How To Build a 36-Hole BMX Wheel that should help.

Here’s How To True A BMX Wheel as well.

If you do not see your hub or rim listed, please let us know in the comments below and we’ll get to work on figuring out the sizes so we can help get you sorted out and back to rolling on your bike!

BMX Brands – If we don’t have your hubs or rims listed, please let us know! We want this to be the most complete and up to date BMX Spoke Calculator.

Are you stoked on this tool? Please give it a Share on Facebook, Twitter, etc. to help spread the word! We appreciate it.

Once again, big shout out to Manyfest BMX for this amazing BMX Spoke Calculator!

Note: We are not responsible for incorrect spoke calculations. The calculator uses information that was either supplied to us by the brand or information found online through reputable BMX dealers, but cannot be guaranteed due to specs or design changes, incorrect measurements supplied or other aspects outside of our control.

I had a KHE Astern freecoaster hub, laced to a Proper rim and ordered the spoke length I got from the calculator, to lace 3 crossed to a cinema 777 rim. When I got the spokes and trued the wheel, spoke length was to big and surprisingly the spokes that were there with the Proper rim ended up being the right ones. Is there something wrong with the calculator?

Sorry about that. It’s possible the hub or rim information changed. We use the information supplied to us by the brand or what is listed online if the brand isn’t responsive to requests (Oddly it’s like pulling teeth trying to get hub specs and rim ERD info). A lot of the hubs and rims listed were supplied by Manyfest BMX as well before we uploaded this, so it’s possible the info changed since then. I’ll see what I can figure out.

I think Flybikes has published the wrong flange distances on their Magneto specs. Don’t see how they could be 29DS and 19NDS. I’ve got a pair on order so am curious what the deal is…

      Hey Rob,
I’m double checking but I got the numbers from David, the owner of Flybikes and designer of the hubs. I think it’s because the driver is a little different and sticks out further than a regular driver would, which decreases the offset of the flange.

As well as a pair of nos Japan Assess hubs (high flange) and another pair of Valisium hubs (again high flange). I am currently in the process of restoring two 1985 GT bicycles and any info on either the rims or hubs would be appreciated.

      PCD: 45mm NDS

        Hey Eman,

I’ll email them and get some other details. Essentially I need the flange diameters and the offset (Flange to center of hub) on both sides and the spoke hole size. It looks like they gave you flange diameters and the length from flange to flange.

Some different measurement from profileracing website. For profile mini rear hub: drive flange diameter: 54. Non-drive flange diameter:43. Drive flange offset:28. Non-drive flange offset:33. Spoke hole diameter:2.5. Please update new measurements for them.

Can you add the Sunday Cyclone Freecoaster to the list or let me know what size spokes I would need to fit an Odyssey Hazard Lite? I haven’t seen it on any spoke websites and I’m wondering if it’s because the hub is recent.

Hey Korey, I have added the Sunday Cyclone freecoaster hub, along with the Odyssey Clutch V1 and V2 since all three use pretty much identical hub shells (similar internals, too). Hope this helps!

We don’t get too into the Race world, but luckily Box is good about listing all their specs on their website. I’ve added the Box Hollow Hubs (front and rear) and Focus rims for you.

Updated to have those two in there. The Trebol rim is actually a double wall as well.

it’s very nice you have provided this page but totally sucks since there’s no option to solve or update entered selection, rendering it completelyuseless.

Hey Luke, we’re working on updating the list. What hub and rim are you looking for? Once we have what people need, we can find the numbers we need for it.

We would need to know the model of the hub since all vary so much. If you can figure that out, we can get the flange diameters that we would use to calculate it.

Added the Total BMX hubs in. Getting a different result than what you said works. Which rear hub are you using?
