“You do not know who I am until you watch this.. This is by far my best production yet and everyone involved killed it.
At long last.. “Life”
a film by Chris Girouard.
(additional footage provided by Brian Jackson & Nick Elison)
I would like to thank everyone who makes my life as exciting and enjoyable as it is, day in and day out. Regardless if you are featured in this film or not. You all are the reason I push myself and others to do better while having the best times possible!
This has been in the making for well over two years now. Nothing was ever set in stone for this project. Some time periods being more productive than others for various people/reasons. But we have had so many great times on and off camera! We have also created some fun and cool projects along the way. So be sure to check them out on my channel!”
Intro..
Part 1: Chris Girouard
(Music by Drew Quinlan; Illuminate – Poursoul)
This is the reason I do what I do; To create films like these for those who have the same passion as me & to create memories that will last a lifetime. Throughout this entire filming process I have had a full-time job(as have others). While at the same time playing weekend warrior, spot searching and trying to stack as many clips as possible. I really like to utilize ANY spot(especially local) to its full potential and come up with whatever footage I can while creating and inspiring clips for others to also get. Needless to say; Being a filmer you never like how your own riding footage comes out & that’s something I have learned to work with along the way. Although I really enjoyed piecing together my part to the soundtrack of Illuminate – Poursoul (www.poursoul.bandcamp.com) & hope that this project in its entirety will help “Illuminate the scene” and inspire other locals to produce some projects like this one of their own in the future. @Girouardchris
Part 2: JD Whitehead
JD has been killing it for YEARS. LONG before I knew of him, or personally. Check out some of his work HERE: (www.Vimeo.com/ib4130) This short but sweet part does no justice to the all of the DEADMAN style footage he is sitting on for his upcoming project Couchlocked. JD goes out of his way to create and maintain spots like I’ve never seen anyone do before. This dudes spot map spreads thru multiple countries and he isn’t stopping the search anytime soon. Knowing who JD is and where he comes from makes him a real inspiration and is truly one my favorite riders. @JD4130
Part 3: Andrew Quinlan
(Music – Freestyle Jam played by Drew & Mike Carney)
Needless to say, Drew fucking ROCKS. He kills it on the guitar, not to mention the bike! Drew filmed his whole part in a couple of weeks and killed a ton of local spots while he was at it. From riding with Drew years ago, up until now; His Perspective on spots and riding has had a great impact on the way I continue to look at the same. @AndrewJosephQuinlan
Part 4: Chase Dehart
Chase is the local pro whose style is seamless. Chase is the man and has hooked it up for years. His name in BMX and Buttery video parts have definitely helped develop the scene into what it is today. @Dehart856
Part 5: Jeff Bustard Jr.
Jeff seems to kill it on whatever he picks up! His short part does not show how much control he has on a skateboard/snowboard. Go find him on instagram for more. @JeffBustard
Part 6: Brian Jackson
Brian had a huge roll in helping this project become what it is. He handed me over 20 tapes to go thru & capture. His first clip was one of the very first clips I filmed with him and is the perfect intro into his raw styled part. @_brianjackson_
Part7: Chris Schaefer
Chris KILLED it. It goes to show how much bike control this dude really has. From two tires to crank arm grinds, regular and opposite
everything; This guy has it all and hes not afraid to let em loose. @uhhh_wut
Part 8: Steve Buck
Steve has a very simple, clean and steezy style anyone can get down with. @steve.brz
Part 9: Mike Curtis
The king slayer.. Is there anything this kid cant do? His short part ALMOST shows all the bike control he has. @mikecurtis03
Part 10: Nick Rosetti
Holy tire rides.. Nick skims across every rail he can find and has no trouble releasing some barspins on the way out! This kid really kills it anytime he rides, check out his other dated video on my channel. @Hotboyrozayy
Part 11: Patrick Cregan
Pat is an absolute beast; Hes got enough balance and bike control to go around.. (Pun intended) Pat looks at setups in a different light than others. Theres no guessing what hes going to come up with next. @patcreganbmx
Part 12: Sean Tighe
Sean is one cool dude who can relate to the #chillsnotskills. Ive known Sean for a long time, way before BMX. Hes one of my closest friends and practically my neighbor. I’m glad to have him a little part featured in this video. @sean_tie
Part 13: Wayne Gransky
Wayne loves bmx and is another #chillsnotskills. You could find him, Sean & I hanging out alot until he recently moved away to New Mexico with family. If you live out west hit him up! @waynegransky
Part 14: Tommy Enright
Tommy has been one of my closest friends since the getgo, we would cruise National Park back in the day like it was our Job. He kills it with his techy style. Unfortunately Tommy stopped riding. Go get at him on twitter and make him get back into it! @tommyenright
Part 15: Ronald Tiedeken
(Music by Ronnie)
Ronnie’s a genuine and funny dude. Whenever we meet up its always a good time no matter what we get into. If you like his music check out some more HERE:(Soundcloud.com/rontied) @ronaldtiedeken
Part 16: Dan Beerley
Needless to say Dan kills everything in his path. Take another look at his part and recognize hes wearing the same shirt in all of his clips.. THATS BECAUSE IT WAS ALL FILMED IN THE SAME DAY. Madness.. @danbeerley
Part 17: Billy Sheppard
I have not seen bill in a long time since the good old WLP days.. Brian filmed his clips and he came thru with some good ones. @willsthedog
Part 18: Josh Babu
Josh is a video/editing genius and has inspired me to do better ever since I started riding with him. A couple years ago josh moves down to ATX and has been killing it down there. Check out some of his stuff HERE:(Vimeo.com/joshbabu) We met up recently when he came up to visit family and managed to get a few clips for eachother! Be sure to stay on the lookout for his upcoming project, “Hot and Heavy”. @thejoshbabu
Part 19: Nick Maltese & Trey Maltese
How awesome to have a brother who has the same interest in a sport that you do? These two kill it in their mixed part and it was filmed in such a short time! @Nick_Maltese @trey_maltese
Part 20: Joey Cheety & Joshua F Word Cheety
Joey kills it on a board. THE BRICKS is no longer a DIY spot.. The township tore up the foundation a few days after filming this footage.. Hopefully in the future I can film more with joey.
Josh has been one of my best friends for as long as I can remember. We use to Ride everyday throughout middle school and you can find some of that footage on my channel or his. He just has a natural ability to skate like his two brothers and one day banged out a 180 for the camera. @Jcheety @papa_cheet
Part 21: Adem Gunaydin
Adem… This dude goes big every damn day.. Hence his ucoming project titled #DailyShit. There is no stopping him on his journey to slaughter anything he can. There are multiple clips throughout this film where he is not on his own bike. Including his first clip where he is riding Sean Tighes bike. When I cut filming to go into edit mode he was unhappy stating “Thats not an ender”.. I said “Barspin roofdrop.. to roofdrop.. how is that not an ender?!?!” This kid is crazy and you should definitely keep up with his Daily Shit!! . @ademgunaydin
