FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Documentary on World’s 1st Person to Successfully Backflip a Bicycle &
Motorcycle Begins Production
TEMPE, Arizona: March 15, 2016- Psychicflyingmonkey Productions is proud to
announce the start of production on a full-length documentary about the inventor
of the backflip on a bicycle and a motorcycle entitled, Out of the Loop: The
Jose Yanez Documentary. Directed by Jason Ryan, the film will reveal what kind
of person could come out of nowhere and pull off a trick that all the BMX pros
of the time had been thinking about, but never thought was possible.
Bill Allen, who played the lead role of Cru Jones in the movie RAD, said of
Jose’s first backflip on the RAD set in a recent interview, “I watched the first
moon
landing, I really did, on live TV, and it had that kind of atmosphere. I’m not
kidding! Because nobody had ever seen this thing before. Nobody knew it was
possible. Everybody knew it was deadly dangerous.” BMX pioneer Eddie Fiola
said in a recent interview, “If it wasn’t for Jose doing this backflip that let
others know that it was feasible, I don’t think the X-Games would have the
intensity that they have now.”
This documentary will also set the record straight once and for all as to who
completed the world’s first backflip on a motorcycle in 1991, years before the
sport of freestyle motocross was even realized. The film will feature
interviews with the pioneers, legends and current pros of BMX, freestyle
motocross, and other motorized sports who have felt the reverberations and
influence of the first person to backflip a mechanized (and then a motorized)
vehicle in history.
A trailer for the documentary has been released on YouTube, and can be found at
