AOTC Review

The other day while checking out Twitter (shameless plug), I saw Chris Zeppieri talking about the new AOTC video being done. I had been hearing really good things about it and asked when it would be available. Expecting to have to wait a week or two longer he just happened to be able to give me a rough copy to check out, which wasn’t rough at all actually. This is what I thought…

The video filmed and edited by Chris Zeppieri and CB Coombs along with about 50 riders came out pretty damn good.

The video coming in at just about 30 minutes with a good mix of old school rock mixed with rap went together really well.
The filming and editing came together really well with the music also. I’ve been following CB on Bikeguide for years, so I knew what to expect from his filming. His glidecam shots came out real well and I am stoked on the use of Glidecams in more videos these days. As for Chris’ filming, I knew from videos of his I have seen on The Come Up that he wasn’t new to the camera either. The angles were good, most of the shots were smooth and clean, and satisfying in general. I honestly wasn’t expecting Will Stroud HD, but the quality was still pretty good.

As I said above, the riders list was pretty long… Here are the names in the video in the sections.
Zack Cooke and Brett Silva had the opening part. I wasn’t familiar with either, but I am going to assume Brett is Chris Silva’s brother? At least he can kill it on a bike like Chris, but is only 14. Zack has a banger that made me say “There is no way… holy shit he did it”.

Chris Saunders and CB Coombs followed up. CB is seriously a slider master, it’s so funny to see how he can litterally slider out of about 70% of his clips. Chris had some solid clips in there to.

Eric Whitescarver, Nick Amer, Dylan Bresnehan, Ian Bresnehan all pretty much went together. I haven’t heard of any of these dudes but it was pretty good. Dylan and Ian are brothers apparently but ride pretty different. It’s cool to see how that works out where two people who are always together and everything aren’t alike really when it comes to bikes.

Adam Spitalny… for some reason his whole part I was thinking “This guy likes to get stuff done”. I don’t know why, but it’s what I was thinking!

Steven Kay, Jonny Nemecek, Frank Juliano, Mike Carni, Rich Guidice, James “maria” Carlucci, Mark Gralla had a mix section together. They all put together some good clips, Mark Gralla seems to always pull through. I had to replay the start to this part because Steven Kay has this super funny nose manual out of a cab that was a complete accident I think? Either way real good.

Jake Frost and Lil’ Dave Deltorto had a part together. I won’t lie, when somebody ghost rides their bike into a car accidently you will always get the best reaction. “Oh my god!” haha Definitely replayed twice. Overall their part was pretty decent.

Mike Scicutella, Tom Passero, Alex Samide, Bobby Whitley, Denny Pascasio (actually serious?),Jeff DuPaul!, Nick Detorre, Pauly Svikevich, John Mozer, Kevin Koczen, Marvin Morales, Dan McAllister, Dwayne Scruton, Steve Morgan, Jody Stoddard, Andy Politis, Pat Palitano, Beezy, Chase Dehart, Garrett Reeves, Rory Ellis all had a mix.

This is about the only thing I really didn’t like. For some reason having 20 dudes together compiling about 28 clips gets a little too fast paced and you can’t really see who these riders are. I mean sure the names like Chase D, Garrett Reeves, Denny Pascasio, and Rory Ellis all stand out and you know what they are capable of, but I wish there was more of the other guys too.
Thing I was stoked on, Jeff DuPaul clips! I’ve honestly never had the chance to see video of him riding before so that was rad. Fact of the matter that Rory Ellis completely shut down this whole part single handedly. Your jaw will drop at what he does, and you will know what I am talking about when you see it!

Chris Zeppieri’s part was what I expected… Solid. He has impressed me before with his web videos, so I didn’t expect anything less from him.

The final part goes to Craig Passero. All I really have to say is that Jim Cielencki gave me the heads up that he kills it. Do you really want my opinion if Jim was impressed? That’s right. Must see.

So overall, I think this video will be worth your time to check out once it is available. From my understanding you will be able to pick it up at Timeless first, and then I am sure the mail orders and other places will have it too.

This was in the scrap clips section. The parapalegic grind is catching on big time lately.

Check Dig in a few days… I am working on an interview with CB and Chris about what it took to get the video together.
