Bike Check

August 14, 2009

It has been a while since I’ve done a bike check… I guess that’s just part of growing up and not really worrying about getting all the new parts coming out, or having the extra money to buy things when they aren’t broken. While I was in San Diego, I decided I needed a change to get me stoked on my bike again. I was contemplating a new frame, but when I realized I didn’t have the funds for it… I went for the next best thing– Fresh paint. You can check out a few photos and what parts I’ve got after the jump…

Frame: Federal Hamilton 20.5 – Metalic Blue (This was the first time I’ve actually painted a frame myself, and I was stoked on the results)
Bars: Odyssey Lumberjacks – Cut down about an inch on both sides.
Fork: Odyssey Race Fork with Carbon Fiber Spacer
Stem: Odyssey Classic
Grips: Animal Edwin
Headset: Odyssey
Front Wheel: G-Sport Hub laced to a 7KA
Front Tire: Odyssey Mike Aitken 2.25″
Rear Wheel: Odyssey Cassette V2 Laced to a Odyssey Hazard Lite
Rear Tire: Snafu Folding (Thanks Alex/Kosman for hooking it up)
Cranks: Profile 180mm
Pedals: Odyssey Twisted PC’s
Sprocket: Odyssey MDS
Chain: Shadow V2
Seat: MacNeil Fat Capital
Post: MacNeil
Clamp: Shadow Conspiracy
Brake Lever: Odyssey Small
Cable: Odyssey Linear
Brakes: Fly
Brake Pads: Odyssey – Clear (Seriously, grippiest brake pads I’ve ever had.)
Macneil Cable Tie
Pegs: Tree

Weight: Right around 24-25

Mods: Nothing really besides cutting down the bars, and fork a bit.
