There’s no denying the success that Chase Hawk has found in BMX over all of his years of style that he has graced us with. This year in particular seems to be one that has been more than amazing than previous years with some unexpected changes to his sponsor line up, taking home a gold medal at the X-Games, having a day named after him in Austin, Texas, having a new version of his signature frame from Cult released and even more recently, his own signature colorway on the Marana shoe from Etnies. There have been a lot of good things happening for him and it’s safe to say it’s every bit well deserved.
A few weeks back, we got our hands on a pair of those signature shoes we just mentioned and figured it would be more than a good time to take a more in-depth look at just what makes the shoe special and give some insight into what we have thought about them so far! So, here we have… Our latest Insight! Let’s do this!

The days are getting shorter and the temps are dropping pretty quick here in the northern hemisphere! With that being said, the sessions are moving indoors for many of us! We figured it would be a good time to take a closer look at a few items to help keep you warm and keep your bike rolling smooth for this weeks Products: column! This week we’ll take a look at the Order jacket from The Shadow Conspiracy, the Match front hub from Cult, the new Tri-Pull sweatshirt from Madera, the Knox sprocket from Sunday Bikes, then we’ll wrap things up with Sergio Layos’ signature Trueno frame from Fly Bikes. Photogallery: 2014 New England Jam Chowda
Every year there are hundreds of BMX jams and events that happen all over the place. Out of all of those events, there are only a handful that have grown into something much bigger. This past weekend, the 3rd annual New England Jam Chowda went down and, much like the previous two, there was a lot of hype going into it because of how good of an event it really is and you know it didn’t disappoint. We heard rumors last year that this jam was the final one, so we wanted to make sure it was documented! Our friend and photographer, Nick Nogueira, made his way to the jam where he spent the day taking photos of everything from the riding on the ramps to the flatland jam that went down and ended up with a ton of great photos. We pieced together 30 of his best shots featuring the likes of Trey Jones, Paul Barnum, Chad DeGroot, Jake Seeley, Brett Tocco, John Mayo, Eric Hennessey and many more into a photogallery for you guys to enjoy! Take a peek because this might be the last time (we hope not) that this jam happens!

Photogallery: Eddie Welsh
One of our favorite things is when a photographer we’re not familiar with drops a few samples in our inbox to get a look at! Although we have seen Eddie Welsh‘s name pop up here and there over time, we had no idea that he was out there crushing it behind the lens. Needless to say, we were stoked on the samples he sent over and we decided there was no way we couldn’t do a photogallery! Once we got the photos he wanted to use, we were more than psyched to see what he was holding out. Check out the new photogallery featuring 17 of Eddie’s photos featuring the likes of Van Homan, Chris Doyle, Steven Mack, Josh Betley, Grant Germain, Jordan Hango, Jared Swafford, Matty Azquizap and more by hitting the link below!

Insight: The Daily Grind – Hub Guards
What do you do when you break a part that is supposed to be designed to take abuse? Well, I know most of us will just be pissed, bitch, moan and swear off ever running the product again. But then there is a guy like Jon “Gremlin” Betchtold who decided that if he can’t find something he’s satisfied with, he will just make what he wants himself. After breaking what I could imagine plenty of parts because of how much of a beast he is, The Daily Grind was founded with the goal of producing products that are going to hold up to the heavy abuse that comes from riding street like riders really do it these days. One of the first products that The Daily Grind have offered was their hub guards but, recently, the crew decided to put a two year warranty on them to show just how much faith they have in them. Take a look at the video promo video they just dropped giving you a look at just what kind of abuse they put their guards through to make sure they are good enough for you, along with a look at some scraps for their new “Hard Times” DVD that is in the works. After you watch that, let’s take a closer look at just what make these guards special after the jump…
