Not going to lie, I’m struggling a little bit right now trying to do this column. It’s 70, sunny and no wind today for the first time of the year. Since I’m sure there’s a bunch of you that either A.) are in the same situation or B.) hate me right now… We’re going to fire out this products column so you can get your bike dialed in and then go ride. Through The Lens: Behind the Cover with Dennis Enarson & Chad Kerley

This week I wanted to give everyone an inside look at the newest cover of Soul Magazine issue #79. It not only came as a surprise to Dennis and Chad but it also came as a surprise to myself as well. I wanted to break it down and let everyone know exactly what it took to make that happen and how sometimes when you least expect it, you get the cover of a magazine. Most of the time it ends up being the craziest/best action photo from that previous month of shooting but every once and a while people like the creators of Soul go above and beyond what’s expected to design a truly unique and one-of-a-kind cover. Let’s take a look and see what went into making this happen.

However, we recently got a submission with a ton of new photos from our friend, Fabien Lefevre from France. Some of you might recall his photos we featured last year that were damn good. Through The Lens – 19 Minutes Later: The Boston Marathon

The following story is my personal, first-hand experience during the bombing at the Boston Marathon. I keep playing the exact moments over and over again in my head. The sound of the bombs wreaking havoc on innocent people is on repeat and the images of people being loaded into ambulances one after the other is something I can’t remove from my system. This story was written just as soon as I could get my laptop into my hands. As I sit here trying to write an intro that makes sense I keep typing and then deleting, and then typing again. I can’t seem to figure out how to make it work, so just go ahead and start reading.

Dawid Chabowski is a photographer from Poland who recently sent through some of his work featuring riders like Michał “Mycek” Mycek, Łukasz “Piro” Pluta, Albert Piotrowski, Rok “Riko” Krivec and more that was nothing short of exceptional. There was no way we couldn’t get a gallery together to give you guys a look! Freed Bikes in Barcelona

Where would you go if you could take a trip anywhere in the world for a week of riding? There are a lot of places to go that would make for an amazing riding trip, that’s for sure. However, there is one place that I’m sure crosses everybody’s mind at one point or another and that’s Barcelona. The Freed Bikes team decided it was time to give their passports some love and make a trip outside of the U.S for their first big team trip with this newly formed brand. Andy Smith, River Waldren, Chris Chamberlain and Corey Foster along with filmer Bobby Kanode packed their bags and made the the flight from Arizona over to this BMX hot spot the other week where they found good spots, new friends and plenty of fun. Below we’ve got a bunch of photos they snapped during the trip to give you a look at just what they got into. Take a peek and expect a full edit to drop from the trip soon!
