The 2014 BV Jam

Here we go again! For the 4th year in a row, we’ve teamed up with Bluff Valley’s Over the Top Skatepark in Zumbro Falls, Minnesota for our annual BV Jam! Over the last 4 years we’ve seen the event grow each year and we ultimately decided to turn the event into a 2-day event this year just so we aren’t trying to find a way to cram everything into one day, feeling pressured or rushed to get through everything! So this year the event will take place SATURDAY, MARCH 8th (PEPSI PRO & EXPERT CLASSES) and SUNDAY, MARCH 9TH (BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE CLASSES)!

This year, the local Pepsi distributor is backing us and we have over $1,500 in CASH to GIVEAWAY for the PEPSI PRO with a $1,000 FIRST PLACE prize up for grabs! We also have a huge list of sponsors that is still growing for prizes and giveaways throughout both days! Anyone who has ever been to one of the BV Jams knows you never leave empty handed! This is going to be the place to be!

UPDATE: Park will open at 8AM instead of the original 10AM we planned. 2 more hours!

2013 BV Jam Flyer

It’s happening again! I’m stoked to announce that we’ll be doing the 3rd Annual BV Jam at the Bluff Valley Campground Over the Top Skatepark in Zumbro Falls, Minnesota on Saturday, January 26th! We’ve already got a stacked group of sponsors for the event and we’ll hopefully be able to add a few more to that list before the jam to make sure everyone is getting hooked up for coming out.

We’ll be doing a beginner and intermediate contest earlier in the day and then an expert contest and a pro contest later in the day. We’re also doing a bunch of mini jams like the Fit Bike Co. Tom Dugan Biggest Air impersonation over the box jump, S&M Bikes Longest Skidmark contest and we’re going to be building one of The Shadow Conspiracy coffin ledge. There will also be a rail jam, foot down, best trick and really any other random ideas we come up with to give us an excuse to hook some riders up with free product.

If you made it out last year, you know the massive building where the skatepark is was packed and we’re hoping to have even more people show up this year for the good times.

Photogallery: Chad Kerley’s Vitaminwater Invitational

Flash back about a month ago and word about a contest that Chad Kerley would be throwing started popping up on Twitter from a few of the people who got the first round of invites. A few days later it was announced that Chad and Vitaminwater would be inviting some of the top street riders in the world to The Bakery for a rider judged contest with $20,000 in prize money up for grabs.
Fast forward to this past weekend and 30 of the best riders in the world are crammed onto a limo bus cruising from the high rises of downtown Chicago into the secret location of The Bakery in a less than glamorous part of the city. Some of the riders had visited before but most had never been inside this playground of goodness. Walking into the building I was blown away with how amazing the spot was and just watching some of the guys start warming up the night before the contest it was clear there would be some amazing things happening within the next day.
Saturday came and once everyone was ready, the cameras were fired up for riders all over the world to watch the live feed of what was without a doubt one of the best contests to happen in BMX ever. I could go on and on about all the wild riding that went down, but I don’t think you want to read a book. So I’ll just keep it simple and say I can’t even begin process all the incredible things that went down and I’d like to give a huge shout out to Chad Kerley, Brian Kachinsky, Vitaminwater, Ride BMX and everyone that made this event possible.

Chad Kerley Vitaminwater Invitational

I’m going to be hitting the road and heading down to Chicago here in just a little bit for Chad Kerley’s Vitaminwater Invitational at The Bakery for the weekend. I’ll be posting up the live feed tomorrow courtesy of Ride BMX for you guys to check out.

It should be a pretty insane contest since I heard the rider list is up to about 30 dudes. So you are going to want to check out the live feed for sure. I’m going to try and shoot some decent photos so I can come up with a photogallery from the weekend for you guys to check out as well…

Photogallery: Bike Hall 2012 Contest

The annual Bike Hall contest has been going on for around eight years now. It seems like each year a few bigger named riders make the trip over to Trutnov, Czech Republic than the year before to give the contest a go. This year, guys like Daniel Dhers, Daniel Sandoval and Michael Berran took to the course and threw down some bangers. We had photographer Aaron Zwaal spend some time shooting photos and do some partying at the contest and he came back with a bunch of rad photos.

Reminder: 2nd Annual BV Jam

Just a reminder that the 2nd Annual BV Jam that I’m putting on is going down at Bluff Valley’s Over The Top Skatepark THIS SATURDAY (February 4th). I’ve got stacks on stacks on stacks of product from all of the sponsors to give away… Like… I need a truck to get everything there. Everyone is leaving with some goodies! Be there if you are looking for a good time! Doors open at 10 a.m. Session starts then. Noon for the Beginner and Intermediate contest… Pro / Expert class starts at 2 with a bunch of jams throughout the day and I’m sure a product toss will get in there at the end.

If you have noticed, I’ve been slacking a little with the originals. I apologize! I’ve been busy working on getting things organized for my annual contest / jam that I’ve been throwing in Minnesota for the last 8 or 9 years now. This year, we will be having it at Bluff Valley Campground’s Over The Top Skatepark in Zumbro Falls, Minnesota for the second year on FEBRUARY 4th! I’m in absolute shock by how much support I was able to get for this one this year. I’d like to give a HUGE shout out to all the sponsors for this year.

As you can see from the flyer, we will be running two contests. One for the beginner and intermediate guys. It will be a jam format. After the contest, we will run a JR. Biggest Air, Jr. Colony Highest Bunnyhop and Jr. Footdown! Registration opens at 10 A.M and the contest will start at Noon for these guys.

After that wraps up, we’ll be running a Pro X Expert contest at 2 PM for the big dogs. It will be a jam format with a cash purse! We will try and fire it out as quick as possible so we can get to the DELUXE Biggest Air where we will be giving the winner a frame from Deluxe, S&M World Record Manual contest, Longest Skid, Division Brand Rail jam, Colony Highest Bunnyhop, FBM Pizza Eating contest, and more.

There may be a video premiere or two depending if the videos are done (Fingers crossed).

It will be a $20 entry fee for the day. That gets you into the contests (if you want), all of the jams for prizes, riding for the entire day with a FREE EVENT T-SHIRT. That and I’d imagine you will be walking away with over $20 in prizes anyways. Free entry for spectators!

So come out for what’s looking like a DAMN GOOD TIME on February 4th here in Minnesota at Over the Top Skatepark.

Red Bull Dreamline Qualifying Results

Red Bull‘s Dreamline officially kicked off yesterday in Wabasha, Minnesota (of all the places in the world…). Since it’s pretty much right in my backyard I cruised on down to shoot some photos from the event. I can’t begin to describe how amazing the course is and how psyched everyone riding is on the course. This is definitely the best “contest” I’ve ever been to.
Yesterday was qualifying and it ran in the form of two one hour jams with eight of the best trails riders in the world in each jam with the other 8 picking their top 4 riders from the heat. Here are the results of who made it into the finals that will be going down later today.

“Red Bull Dreamline invited 16 of the world’s best BMX dirt riders to Anthony Napolitan’s private training facility in Wabasha, Minnesota. A first of its kind, Red Bull Dreamline features an unrestricted trails-style course that sends riders to skies and back down again.

Earlier today, the qualifers pitted all 16 of the riders against each other. But only eight of them made it to the finals. Here’s a list of the finalists, in no particular order:

I started tearing into some 300 or so photos from yesterday that I will hopefully be able to get posted up at some point tomorrow. You guys will be more than psyched. Also, the footage that I’ve seen so far that Ryan Navazio captured is looking amazing. Edits and a Fuel TV special to follow in the next few weeks I presume.
