Curious how Vans shoes are made? Here’s a video giving you a look into their production!
Have you ever wondered how Vans shoes are made? Well, you’re in luck today because Vans have released this video showing you a little behind the scenes look at some of the steps involved in the production of their ever popular shoes. The first part of this video shows how the production was originally done in the United States back in the day. After that, the second half, we see some footage of Steve Van Doren putting in some time at their current factory pounding out thousands of pairs of shoes in China to supply the world with the waffle soled shoes that have become a classic for BMX riders, skateboarders, artists and millions of other people. Although it would be amazing to see Vans still making their shoes in the U.S, it’s still a super interesting process with a number of machines and people involved from melting the rubber to sewing and branding… You gotta check it out because it’s the best look at just how Vans shoes are made. We have heard from a lot of people over the years that the Vans shoes aren’t like they used to be, some good, some bad, but when you’re making that many shoes, there’s bound to be issues found. It’s clearly not the same amount of time and personal touch being put into each shoe like back in the day, but needless to say the shoes are still pretty damn awesome. There’s a reason so many BMX riders from around the world choose Vans shoes. Plus, they’ve been doing a lot to throw huge events and really support BMX with that extra money that’s made from doing things the way they do it now.
