Daniel Johnson has been on fire this last year. It seems like he came out of no where down in Australia when it was announced that he was on the Division Brand team. Since then he has definitely made his presence in a handful of edits where he consistently killed it. Apparently his work has definitely paid off since I’m super stoked to announce that DJ is now repping HOFFMAN BIKES! We figured it would be rad to make the announcement by giving you a look at his dialed new setup. Check it!

What’s the newest part on your bike?
Frame, Wheel-set, Sprocket & headset
What’s the oldest?
Probably my front tire, or my seat.
What do you tend to burn through the most?
Grips, Chains & pedals. But regularly replacing those 3 things makes your bike feel dialled again, so not a bad thing.
I know a lot of people are pretty OCD about things like where their bars are and everything. Do you have any presets you need your bike at or it just feels all wrong?
I don’t think im overly fussed to much, once you ride any bike for more then 10 minutes it starts to feel normal, haha.
Does your set up change much? Do you ever add or remove pegs at all?
Pegs never get removed from my bike! I recently moved my bars a little forward (almost Chicago’d) just to try help me out with nose manuals. It isn’t working, but I think it helped my hop a little, so I’ll stick with it.
Have you considered tossing the brakes back on again?
Being brakeless for almost 6 years, there is no chance of brakes ever going near my bike.
What’s it like having your own signature bars through Division? Is it still pretty surreal?
It is such a privilege & yeah pretty surreal. Gets me so stoked when I think about.
What’s your favorite piece of your whole bike?
Hub guards, just because they make grinds feel so nice, but I really like the look of the Division Formosa Forks. So clean.
So you are the newest addition to the Hoffman team. How did that all come about? Do you have anything cooking with them yet as far as trips or videos go at all?
Yeah! I’m stoked to be apart of the Hoffman team! Mike Daly @ Kickass BMX who distribute Hoffman over here emailed me asking if I was keen, & hell yeah I was! Going to be hopefully getting a welcome edit out in a few weeks.
Since we did an interview not too long ago I’ll save you from too many questions. Do you have anything new going on with Divison or anything? Anything cooking for 2012 yet?
As I have mentioned, I’ve change my Sig bars’ to the mid range 8.5″, I wanted to see what they felt like, & was into them so yeah. 2012 at the moment is just planned to have some filming trips around Aus, & get that footage out there. which gets me psyched!
You have had a couple edits with clips of you drop lately. Can we expect more soon?
Cooper and I are working on a few edits, footage is rolling in nicely for it, pretty keen to see the end results thats for sure.
Anything else you have been real psyched on lately?
Just going out riding with the crew, always having the best times, & everyones riding lately has just been so good. filming for “The Package” series that we got going on at Focalpoint. It is awesome. We all love it.
