Like they say “good things come in time” and this bike check definitely turned out real good. How are things going with Deluxe these days? What does Mark have in the works with you?
Things are cool. Have just built up a Protoz frame and having a run through the jumps. Seems pretty dialed, Feels just like the tech two dimensionally and has a few really nice touches on it. It has a slightly taller head tube on it, which is all good in my book.

Do you have any other sponsor news you are psyched on?
Nah, not really looking for “sponsors”, and I’m fairly certain they ain’t looking for me. The whole Deluxe thing is purely a cosmic accident.

I’d imagine you have been pretty busy digging these days. How are the trails running? Do you guys have any big plans for Barend this year?
Busy as always, well not busy. I mean, I really enjoy being at the trails whether that be riding or digging. So I wouldn’t call it busy that’s mental, no one would say they’ve been really busy riding a lot…well some people do… but the majority don’t. Don’t get me wrong it is hard work, but I like working hard at something, all the more pleasure for it.

Do you have any trips planned? Where are some places you would like to get to at some point this year? Plan on hitting any events at all?
Ha ha. Fucking can and worms. Well I was planning on going to France with the rest of the Deluxe team, in fact I had bloody aligned the planets for Mark to make it happen. Then Bam! A week or so before I started a new job. Kind of had to prove I was serious about the new job so couldn’t take 10 days off when I had just started. But you know fingers crossed for next year.

Have you been filming for anything lately? When can we expect to see some footage of you popping up?

What are you up to when you aren’t digging or riding these days? I take it you are working quite a bit?
Yeah, working lots. Max is over from France so we’ve been hanging out and Jamming together,

What are a few things you have been real psyched on lately?
Erm. The Albion, really plussed on that. Case mag is looking good. Soul Mag en Francais. Max doing back flips on Jam line to impress teen girls on bikes.

You are into shooting photos, right? What kind of a setup are you working with these days?
A camera stupid. Ha ha, well I have a Cannon 5D with A 50mm, 14 –40mm L (not fisheye,) and a 200mm L. Used to use flashes and shit but have realized they’re bollox. Fully just into natty light. Netters used one of my pics of Yeagle for a poster in the latest Case and it would not be improved with tech flash set ups. Trying to capture good Trails photos is hard but I want to capture the spirit of trails in the shot.

What’s the last song you heard, movie you watched and website you visited?
Last song was Tetragrammaton by Mars Volta. Last book (in place of Movie) was Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, although I did actually watch Die Hard last night and last website was always going to be Facebook.
