Although we just caught up with Grant the other week, we heard that he built up a fresh new setup recently. So while Grant was down in Florida for the recent Profile Racing #EscapeParkTour, we had Brett Rohlfing catch up with the crew and get us a closer look at his new Mutiny Rune setup. This is one clean and dialed looking street machine that’s for sure. Let’s take a peek at just what Grant is running these days and get a little progress report on his signature frame that is in the works as well!

What’s the newest part on your bike?
Sample color on the Rune frame and Sample Tripod Seat
What’s the oldest part on your bike?
Probably some of my carbon headset spacers. I have had those for a long while now.
What do you usually go through the fastest?
Just grips, tires, and pedals these days. Everything is pretty solid.
Do you have a certain way your bike needs to be or it all feels wrong? Bars in a certain place or something like that? I’d imagine there has to be something that allows you to do all the crazy tech tricks you do.
The most important thing for me is making sure that my back end is short and that my pegs are bigger than my drop out. I want to be sliding with the least amount of resistance as possible. I also like my bars pretty lined up with my forks.
Does your setup change up at all? Less pegs or a freecoaster for example or are you pretty consistent with how you have your bike?
I am really comfortable with my set up. I haven’t changed anything for years. I put on 4 pegs a few years back and my bike has been the same ever since. I don’t foresee it changing much anytime soon.
You mentioned you are on a sample of the new Rune frame. Aren’t you working on your own signature frame? What’s the story on that?
Yeah, the frame that I am currently riding is a sample color on the current Rune frame. I was originally going to be getting a colorway of that frame but since we moved the order around a little we actually had enough time to plan a full signature frame which I couldn’t be any more psyched about!
Do you have any specs nailed down for the Castelluzzo frame yet that you can tell us about?
The specs are 75 ht, 13inch rear end slammed, 11.8bb, 70-degree seat tube, 8.8″ stand over, smaller drop outs that sit more flush with my peg, and a bunch of top tube sizes ranging from 20.2 all the way to 21.1. We are using a few different tubes than our last frames and it will be completely brakeless. The reason for these changes is to help keep the cost down. We want it to be as close to $300 retail. I want as many people as possible to be able to ride my frame. I couldn’t be anymore psyched on the way it is all turning out. Thanks Gaz!
Do you have any other signature parts in the works? Did you get your 2014 colorway for Profile figured out during your trip to Florida you just took?
No other signature parts in the works thus far. Early talks with Matt Coplon about doing another color way for Profile but nothing is set in stone yet.
Any other news since we caught up with you the other week?
Not a whole lot. Just got back from the profile #escapeparktour in Florida. Nothing but amazing times. The second one is coming soon to the frozen midwest. Can’t wait to get back to riding with Matt and Mark. Those guys are awesome. I am just planning on keeping traveling and staying busy.
