It’s Sunday and I know you’re feeling the effects of a good weekend. It also means it’s time to take a look back at the week and re-visit all of the best videos that dropped since last Sunday. The sun is shining and I’m trying to go out and ride so I’m going to keep this intro short and jump into things. Let’s do this!
To start things off, we’ve got my personal favorite from the week. A couple weeks back, United and Eclat brought together some of their teams to the San Francisco area to see what they could get into. Obviously when you put a crew consisting of Corey Martinez, Christian Rigal, Shane Weston, Chester Blacksmith, Geoff Slattery and Iz Pulido together with some awesome spots, you’re going to come up with dialed video. After you check out the edit, make sure you have a look at HighandBound.com to check out more bonus photos and such from the trip.
This past week Fit announced the release of their 2013 complete bikes. They will be releasing these high end bikes modeled after their pro team riders bikes two at a time through out the year. The first two bikes are Tom Dugan and Justin Inman’s bikes. They dropped a promo edit for both guys and above would be Tom’s edit. It’s hard not to be blown away by Tom’s riding just because how fast and high he goes, but also just the crazy setups he finds along the way as well.
When you take that riding and add Walter Pieringer behind the filming and editing, you are bound to be left with a hell of a video that is worth a second look for sure. It’s just funny how much Tom doesn’t give a fuck and how pissed people get by the things he does. If you haven’t seen this yet, hit play so you know what I’m talking about.
Oh, and you can check out Tom’s Signature Series bike RIGHT HERE. Also, here’s Justin Inman’s edit that should be on this list as well.
The other day DK dropped this new video featuring Brian Hunt. I’m a big fan of Brian’s riding just because he’s got a real positive attitude and brings some proper style and unique tricks to the table. I was slightly surprised by this video popping up because I’d imagine he’s still healing up from the shoulder surgery he had about two months back now. This video must have been sitting for a while since I’d imagine the clips were filmed before the injury. Either way, I’m stoked it’s out because everything from the riding to the filming and editing is on point.
If there’s one rider that has really blown up the past year or so, it’s Kris Fox. His fast paced riding mixed with his style is definitely one of a kind. This new video of him for Demolition is a mix of trails and park footage leaves your mind wondering how he does the things he does… and wishing you started out racing since that’s where most of this speed and style came from. They teamed Kris up with Dylan Pfohl who handled the filming and editing. If you haven’t caught on, I’m a fan of the quality of Dylan’s work and he did a real good job with this new video as expected. Can’t go wrong with this one for sure.
I honestly want to know what’s going on in Australia that is producing this massive list of killer riders. They’ve definitely made it clear they know how to ride ramps, but the street scene down there has been blowing up just as much lately. Fit‘s Dullah Djawas, Luke Vandenburg, Matt “Tenna” Spencer and Jack Elkins took a trip to Melbourne to check out the spots that the place had to offer. It’s clear from this video they had no problem producing because they ended up with this video of just short of 8 minutes and it’s an easy one to get sucked into. They put John Young behind the lens for the project and that was a proper decision since he’s definitely one of the top filmers and editors coming out of Australia these days too.
The other day Pavia hit me up with a link saying something along the lines of “Kelly Bolton sent over this new edit from his crew, LAX Films“. Waiting for the video to load I really didn’t have any clue of what was to come from this, but damn am I sure glad I checked it out. The crew consisting of Paul Aya, Kelly Bolton, Chris Bracamonte, Eric “Barney” Cuiper, Trevor Gonzalez, Jake Odle (lil’ Jake), Eddie Saucedo, Santiago Saucedo, Chris Uka, and Jake Rodriguez spend some time at the Berrics Plaza “warming up” before hitting the streets. In the time they had “warming up” they were able to drop some damn good riding and came through with this edit. I’m especially stoked to see Paul Aya’s name pop up because I haven’t seen anything from him in way too long. Somebody get to work filming with him! Overall though, I hope to see more from this crew sooner than later.
It seems like every few days a new name pops up that really impresses me. Not to down play this video at all, but it’s definitely a good problem happening in BMX these days. The other day this edit of Sean Kelly popped up that really caught me off guard. This kid knows how to blast and has a big bag of tricks that really left me stoked on him. This is his welcome edit to The BMX Box over in the U.K and I hope this is just the start of some welcome edits we’ll see out of him in the future because if he keeps it up, I could see him picking up a few more sponsors.
It seems like there’s been a lot of different style sponsors that are looking for BMX riders to represent them these days. One of those have been underwear sponsors. Pull-In recently added a whole U.S team consisting of Kris Fox, Broc Raiford, Coco Zurita and Kevin Peraza. To announce the forming of this new team, they got everyone together at Woodward West to get some filming time in with one of my favorite French filmers and editors, JC Pieri. Bringing these riders together with JC behind the lens created a real proper start for Pull-In in BMX.
DC recently loaded up Chris Doyle, Mike “Hucker” Clark, Dylan Stark, Alfredo Mancuso, Jeremiah Smith and Rob Wise for a 5,000 mile road trip from California to Tennessee, up to Indiana and back to California. During the trip they managed to hit up a bunch of parks and street, do a few demos, appear on American Guns and more. The video above gives you a look at some of the things they got into on the trip. It’s a little shorter than I had expected, but they still managed to produce a real good video in that time.
With the near release of the new The Shadow Conspiracy X Vans collaboration shoes, shirt and hat, Trey Jones, Lahsaan Kobza, Alistair Whitton, and Eric Bahlman hit the road to Kentucky and Indiana for some riding time. These guys are all managed to produce, but Eric Bahlman definitely stood out to me the most with his unique style. Regardless, Ryan Chadwick did a great job filming and editing this and the shoes and everything turned out so dialed. We’ll be doing a feature on the collaboration later today actually so check back.
It’s always awesome to see a rider put some real time and effort into an edit. Colony dropped this video of Jourdan Barba that he spent a couple months filming for. With that being said, he was able to come across a lot of damn good spots and produce some riding that will get you stoked. I feel like I’ve seen some of Davey Gunn’s filming and editing work before, but for some reason the name still sounds new to me. Either way, he did a solid job and this video definitely is one that’s worth a second look.
