After a weekend away from internet and cell phone reception, hanging out on the sand bars of the Mississippi, I’ve finally kicked the actual hangover I was dealing with to bring you this weeks Hangover! Going through all the pages of the Daily section reminded me that there was a lot of good that came from the week. Let’s take a look back at some of the gems that stood out!
This past week brought not just one, but two very good videos featuring Sean Burns. The first would be the promo edit from the Bone Deth crew for the Speed Freak sprocket. The video features some wild riding from Shajn Raines, Sean Burns, Colt Fake, Chris Crawford, Kert Petersel, Jay Wilson, Party Management and Big Red along with a couple fine ladies in minimal clothing. Classic Bone Deth style.
The second video featuring Sean Burns would be his new promo video for his signature grips and stem from Eclat. As always, Sean hauls a lot of ass and does some gnarly drops that you know you love to see. Both of these videos made this week a good one for sure.
As I write this, Harry Main’s highly anticipated VX2 edit is sitting at a little over 160,000 views. The video dropped on Monday, July 9th so in a little less than a weeks time, it has crushed pretty much every other video that has dropped in the views count. Actually, it probably has more views than all the rest of these videos combined. That’s beside the point though, because what matters is that Harry Main drops some serious hammers in this new video. If you missed this, I’m going to tell you one more time to hit that play button on this because there’s already 160,000 reasons why you should.
The past few months, Tree Bicycle Co. have been busy creating one of the best teams in BMX now that they are a parts only brand. I’ll be honest, when they said they were going to be making some changes, I had no idea I’d be seeing guys like Alex Magallan being added to the team. Either way, I’m completely stoked because Alex’s style of riding is one of my personal favorite and him joining Tree (which is a real good fit for him) meant this welcome edit happened.
If there is one thing I have constantly been reminded of since Corey Bohan’s Wizard of Aus show premiered on the Red Bull Youtube page, it’s that Corey lives a life that I think every single one of us dream of living. In the 6th episode (Yeah, I can’t believe it’s already been 12 weeks since the first episode either), Corey spends some time in England for the Empire of Dirt contest, then makes his way back to his home of Southern California for the annual Stephen Murray jam. There’s a good mix of riders in this along with plenty of footage of Corey which is always a good thing. Definitely looking forward to the next one of these.
The weather in the U.K has been pretty crazy. They have been getting a ton of rain lately, which has definitely been a slap in the nuts for the trails guys like Tom “Robbo” Robinson. It hasn’t put Robbo out of commission since he just took advantage of some real good street spots when the rain held out long enough for this new Quintin Co. edit. There needs to be more Robbo footage popping up.
What happens when you put Eduards Zunda, Alex Valentino and Sergio Layos together in Spain? You get some damn good riding on a bunch of real good spots for Carhartt. With a line up like that, it’s damn near impossible to pass up hitting play because you already know they will throw down a lot of things you want to see. Definitely worth a second look if you already caught it!
Mick Bayzand has been leaving his mark on the Australian street scene for quite a while now. After being out for a while, Mick and Colony decided to update a few things with his signature Teddy bars. Now that they’re ready to drop, Mick went out and put in some work to film for this new promo video that definitely didn’t disappoint. Cooper Brownlee handled the majority of the filming and all of the editing, so the footage came out great.
While we’re on the topic of Australia, did you catch Jerry Vandervalk’s welcome to Primo edit? Well, Jerry is now riding for them down in Australia and because of the news, this welcome edit came from it. It has been a while since Jerry has had a full edit drop and after watching this video, I’m stuck wanting to see more from the guy. Let’s hope it won’t be long before more goodness like this pops up.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to join the Sun Ringle crew on a couple of trips. Every single time has lead to some real good times on and off the bike. Back on the America trip we took once, the term “ITB” or “In The Budget” became the theme for if we could afford to do something or if we would stuck hitting the dollar menu at Taco Bell for a week straight. A few weeks back, Jeff Klugiewicz, Timmy Theus, JJ Flairty, Brad Gibbs, Trent McDaniel, Mark Potoczny, Josh Eilken and Reed Stark took a trip to Michigan to check out the spots in Detroit and a few other places with a solid budget to make for what look like a hell of a good trip. All of these guys bring some real good riding to this one, so I know you won’t be disappointed.
All right, this week was dominated by Australia. Here’s yet another one from down under. This past week, Subrosa‘s Skeleton crew rider, Raphael Jeroma – Williams, came through with this real good video loaded with good riding and good spots. This was an easy decision when it came to picking the videos for this week.
A lot of brands have been doing a real good job of spending time at local shops hanging out with the locals and bringing the good times. One of those brands would be FIT. They recently sent Dan Conway, Ben Lewis, Shawn McIntosh and Van Homan out to Dick Maul’s and the Local BMX shop for some riding, pizza and giveaways. Always cool seeing kid getting stoked on BMX, and there’s plenty of good riding that went down. Can’t go wrong with this one.
There’s no doubt that Mike Jonas has been blowing up lately. His creative riding and personality makes it easy to become a fan. Today, Markit dropped their monthly web video featuring Mike getting down at a couple different cement skateparks. Combining Mike’s original riding with the filming and editing of Christian Rigal, you can’t go wrong at all!
Welp, that wraps up this weeks edition of Hangover! Hopefully you’re as stoked on all of these videos as I am. Don’t forget this past week brought a whole bunch more edits, so hit the Daily section and make your way through the 964 pages of videos, products, news and more!
