As every week goes by, there’s always an endless supply of edits that we are posting up in the Daily section. This week was a busy one since going through around 18 pages of posts (around 180 posts), I was reminded of all the rad videos that dropped. We’ve got 16 edits (and a full-length DVD) that are definitely worth a second look, so let’s get into this!
Above we have Dakota Roche’s latest edit for his sponsor, Monster. I don’t think I really need to explain why this made it on to the list or even the top of the list this week. Dakota is always on it and there’s no surprise the video has nearly 60,000 views in just a couple days. Will Stroud was the man behind the lens and like Dakota, we know he’s always on it and is always producing high quality videos. Just hit play (if you haven’t already).
To be honest, this one surprised me. Veesh uploaded the entire Yawn BMX DVD that he spent nearly 3 years working on. The quality of the footage mixed with the level of riding that goes on in this makes it really easy to watch all the way through. There’s a couple riders like Iz Pulido who really got noticed because of this video too. If you have some time to kill today, I highly suggest you take 26 minutes to watch this one through.
Here’s one I was esspecially stoked on this week. Raphael Jeroma-Williams came in hot with this new edit for his shoe sponsor Fallen. Raphael has been killing it for a long time, but this has to be one of my favorite videos from him yet. Jack Birtles handled the filming and editing for this one and I think he did an excellent job with the video as expected. All around, this one is definitely worth a look or a second look if you caught it earlier this week.
This past week everyones teasers for their sections being submitted to for the second round of The Hunt started popping up. I’d imagine we dropped around 15 or so teasers in the Daily section. Eduards Zunda’s teaser really stood out to me. I think it’s just because I’m a big fan of the guy and it looks like he really dropped the hammer for his part. I’m looking forward to seeing his full part.
Will Stroud made it on to the list twice this week! This time he teamed up with Chris Doyle to do some filming around Chris’ home town of Raleigh, North Carolina for DUO when he made a trip to visit some friends and family. You get some dialed footage of Chris killing some of the park and street spots that they came across. That’s really all I should have to tell you about this because we all know what Chris and Will are capable of when they work together. Need more of this in my life.
Steve Woodward San Diego – More BMX Videos
I don’t know where the hell Steve Woodward has been hanging out lately, but it’s definitely not in front of a camera. That changed this week when Miles Rogoish dropped this video of him getting some riding time in at the Clairemont park, Ocean Beach park and Dennis Enarson’s backyard ramp in San Diego. Some of you younger guys might not recognize this dude, but he’s been killing it for as long as I can remember and this edit proves he’s still on it. All I know is that the pegless over ice picks he does in this video are absolutely nuts and the ender is one of the wildest tricks I’ve seen in a long time. I really hope we start seeing more footage of Steve popping up again.
If you haven’t caught on, I’m a big fan of Corey Bohan’s Wizard of Aus show that Red Bull has been producing. In this episode, Corey is over in Prague hanging out checking out the city and the Dirt and Roll contest. This place looks like it’s a wild time and the riding gets pretty nuts too. I’ve said this a bunch of times already, but I’m real jealous of the life Corey lives.
Rob Wise’s signature Tactic shoe from DC dropped this week. With that came this dialed promo video that’s got some riding and lifestyle clips of Rob. The main reason for this one making it into the list this week is the insane last roof gap clip. So gnarly. Rob is a beast.
It’s been a bummer that Tony Malouf and Jeff Wescott have been so damn busy traveling because it has put a limit of the Josh Eilken footage popping up these days. Josh is such a badass rider and this new promo edit for the new Madera heat-treated cranks is proof enough of that. This could be summed up with three words, pegless freecoasting madness. Josh is definitely one of my favorite freecoaster riders so this was more than a treat. You won’t be disappointed by it either.
What happens when you team Fit Bike Co. up with one of my personal favorite filmers, Rich Forne? You get a rad new video for DIG. This time around Bengo spends his time cruising the streets of Sheffield and Liverpool, England putting together some damn good riding. This one is an all around treat. Also, on a side note, the new MPORA video player is looking to be more dialed than before.
Tempered‘s Jerry Vandervalk and Nick Kajewski spent the last couple of months collecting clips for their latest split edit and it definitely turned out damn proper. Both of these guys are street slayers and it seems like they have been kind of cruising under the radar the last few months so it’s good to see some fresh footage out of them. They had Mike Vockenson handling the filming and editing and he’s been getting real good at producing some solid videos for a while now. All around I was stoked on this one and I hope we can expect to see more footage of Jerry and Nick here soon.
It’s kind of crazy to think about the volume of videos a brand can produce over the course of a few years. Since 2008, Macneil have released 100 videos. To celebrate, they took one clip from each video (which had to be a huge pain in the ass to be honest) and compiled them into this 9 minute video that is a sweet timeline of the last few years and definitely reminds me of all the videos. Between TCU, DIG and here, I’ve been posting videos consistently since around 2007, so I’m pretty sure I’ve embeded every one of those 100 videos somewhere at some point. Talk about a real accomplishment right there, haha.
When I first came across this video of Pablo Gallardo, I really didn’t think it would be all too wild. I guess it just wasn’t a name that sparked my memory of a past video or anything. Needless to say I was really stoked on this one because everything about it is so good. The riding is on point, the filming and editing is dialed and the song goes really well with it. I’m looking forward to seeing more from this guy in the future.
Apparently Kevin Kalkoff and Vans know how to throw a party. They basically got a bunch of guys like Ben Hennon, Bruno Hoffmann, Matthias Dandois, Alex Valentino and Simone Barraco together for a bowl, street and best trick contest. There was a huge turn out and a ton of people dropped some damn good riding. It also looks like they were able to get loose out on the lake which leads me to believe everyone who missed this event missed out an awesome time. Really like seeing events like this go down.
The recent United and Eclat High & Bound trip was real productive. So productive they were able to come away with not just one, but two real good videos from it. We dropped the first edit last week and this new one actually dropped today. Check out even more footage of Corey Martinez, Christian Rigal, Shane Weston, Geoff Slattery, Chester Blacksmith and Iz Pulido’s time in California. You won’t ever be disappointed with a crew like that.
Here’s another one that deserves to make this list. Elliot Van Orman spent a bunch of time putting this video together and it definitely turned out rad. If you are a trails or cement park fan, you will be real stoked on this one. Colorado seems like it’s got some amazing spots to ride and the scene is definitely going strong. Overall, this video turned out rad and I figured it was deserving of a second look.
Well, that’s a look back on this past week and another edition of Hangover is coming to a close. Hopefully this helped cure your beer flu you are trying to take care of right now. Check back next Sunday to see what this coming week had to offer. Until then, check out all of our latest Originals or hit up the Daily Section for all of the latest videos, news, products and more!
