Have you ever stripped out your axle? Here’s how to fix the threads on a 14mm BMX axle…

It’s that time of the week for Brant Moore to do his Tech Tip video. This time around he teaches us how to use a thread die to fix an axle that has had the threads stripped. This requires a few tools that you can find links to below. This is a great tip for anyone who is rough on their axles, and don’t like buying new axles all the time. Take a peek!

Fixing threads can seem like an impossible task, especially when your axle nut wont even come off.
However, with the proper tools it can be a very easy task to complete. With a 14mm x 1mm thread cutting die, and a handle you can have your axle looking and feeling brand new again.

In this video I demonstrate how to clean up and fix the threads on a male bmx axle.
