Insight: Cult X Vans Collaboration Chukka Midtop & Era Pro

There’s no denying that we have seen a lot of collaborations between brands over the years and they have all lead to some pretty cool final products. A few years back, Cult teamed up with Vans for a collaboration that produced two styles of shoes that yielded some amazing results — I still rock ’em even — and they have finally teamed back up for a second go! The shoes themselves have been available for a few weeks now, but we figured it would be a good time to take a closer look their latest collaboration with the classic Chukka Midtop and Era Pro shoes that they used for this time around! Let’s do this!

Let’s start this out with my personal favorite from the collaboration, the Chukka Midtop! The upper body of the shoe is a mix between suede and ballistic woven nylon with leather wrapping around the heal for a little extra aesthetic touch and extra durability. The tongue uses the ballistic woven nylon and features a larger woven Cult logo, with smaller woven Vans logos on both sides of the shoe. The sole of the shoe starts out with Vans’ classic Pro Vulc construction with an UltraCush HD footbed that has a custom Vans X Cult “Bleed For This” logo. On the bottom you better believe you can find the classic Waffle pattern with the white and red wrap and the rubber Vans logo on the heal. I personally really like the look that the Ballistic woven nylon gives the shoes and am digging that they chose to go suede over full on leather like they did the last go around.

The Chukka Midtop is available in black with flame scarlet accents for $70 on the Vans Webstore or for $59.99 on Dan’s Comp! You can also find this shoe through Vans dealers worldwide as well!

The second option in the collaboration is one for you low top lovers out there — the Era Pro! The upper body of this one is wrapped in sued with the leather heal with an embossed Cult logo. It doesn’t feature the ballistic woven nylon that I personally like so much on the other shoe, but with the low top there isn’t as much room to work with. The tongue of the shoe is made from suede and you can find Vans woven logos on the sides similar to the other shoe! The sole of the shoe features Vans’ Pro Vulc construction with Duracap underlays to increase the durability, the classic Waffle sole with white and red wrap and rubber Vans logo in the rear and the UltraCush HD footbed with the Vans X Cult “Bleed for This” graphic on the inside for that comfort. Although, I personally am leaning towards the midtops, I do like how clean and simple the shoe came out.

The Era Pro’s are available for $65.00 in the Vans Webstore or for $54.99 on Dan’s Comp. They’re also available through Vans dealers worldwide now!

Overall, I’m stoked on the latest collaboration between Vans and Cult and I’d imagine this won’t be the last of ’em. Between the shoes, grips, tires and more… Who knows what we’ll see next!
