It’s funny how technology has evolved and changed over the years and you find new ways to connect different things you use throughout the day to one thing you never really thought you would have the capability of doing. The other day our friends at The Watch Hut hit us up to see if we had any interest in checking out one of the G-Shock watches the carry. Instantly, we started thinking that it might be a good idea because we’ve seen them involved with BMX quite a bit over the years sponsoring events and different riders like Nigel Sylvester. We remembered a promo video Nigel did a little while back for the GB6900B and figured that would be a good one to check out. Let’s take a closer look at this watch.
Alright, so let’s start out with some of the features this watch has. To start off, we just want to say that it’s pretty crazy what they can pack into a tiny watch like this these days. The GB6900B is shock resistant, water resistant up to 200m, has an Auto LED backlight, world time, 35 time zones (100 cities and UTC) with city code display and daylight savings, up to 5 Daily alarms, an hourly time signal, vibration function for notifications, an on screen tap function, a stop watch, measuring capacity with elapsed time and split time, a count down timer, automatic calendar, 12 and 24 hour time formats, low battery and power saving functions with a battery life of 2 years. It even has a feature that will help you find your phone if you miss placed it. That’s definitely something that could benefit a lot of us, haha.
Then you get into the Bluetooth capabilities of the watch so you can connect the watch with your smartphone. With this capability, you can control the music you’re listening to on your phone, get call and message notifications, adjust watch settings from your phone, operate smartphone applications from your watch, the ability to adjust alarms, run the countdown timer and check the world time from your phone.
Below is a video featuring Nigel Sylvester showing you how the Bluetooth functions work.
Overall, if you’re looking for a watch, but you want it to have functions to connect with your phone so you can do things like change music and get notifications then this might just be what you are looking for. Plus, it looks pretty rad, too. That’s always a plus.
The GB6900B comes in three colors; black, red and vivid blue with matching bands. The watch is available through The Watch Hut for $194.67 and G-Shock dealers worldwide.
