Next up, I bumped into Javee from Cult so I had him give me the low down on what’s cooking for the new year with these guys. Cult has been pretty good about keeping people in the loop on what they are working on but I was still surprised with a few items, so let’s take a peek.
Up top we have Dakota Roche’s signature colorway and graphics on the Deathrow frame and below that we have Chase Hawk’s signature colorway and graphics on the Badboy frame. Both are U.S made frames and built for whatever you can throw at them. I believe he said these will be available in November? Don’t quote me on this. Yesterday was a blur for me.
The rest of the frame line up.
The complete line has grown over the last two years. This year they’ve got more color options and even that higher end Chase DeHart Butter complete which looks real good.
Seats on seats.
Grips on grips. Apologies if there are any Primo or Federal items in there, they were all in the same booth and everything was kind of intertwined so there’s a good chance that happened.
The Cult freecoaster that they’re cooking up. Here’s the update. Basically, they are still testing out the internals they are working on. It sounds like they’ve got a regular roller bearing on the outside (you can see it in the bottom photo) and a needle bearing in there next to it. Otherwise, that’s about as much as I could get out of them so far. The hub shell will be changing. Once they have the internals dialed they will slim down the shell and give it a fresh look.
Cult are now offering plastic pegs as well. I guess some of the team guys have been running the steel insert only too. This peg has a 35mm diameter with the sleeve on it.
They have beefed up their sprocket a bit for this year. The chain alignment is the same, just more material on the front on the crank arm side.
Hubs on hubs on hubs.
Bars on bars on bars.
Here’s those gum tires that will be out soon. Sounds like these will be your best bet if you are looking for traction since they grip like mad.
Wax on wax on wax. Get your slide on.
A look at some of the latest t-shirts Adam Roye has come up with.
All right, so that wraps up the Cult goods at Interbike. They’ve definitely got a few new items and they are making progress on the freecoaster so that’s good.
