Mark Mulville Bike Check

One dude who is ALWAYS on the move and bringing a positive vibe everywhere he goes is Mark Mulville! Mark has been bouncing around like crazy lately and most recently found himself down in Colombia! We were catching up the other day and Mark had mentioned that he recently built up a fresh bike with his new signature Silva V2 frame from Subrosa. So we figured, despite Mark having super limited WIFI, it was a good time to take a look at this bike of his. Although it’s a little dirty, this is what we call one dialed unit! Let’s take a look!

Modifications: I’ve been lucky enough to help design a bit of products with Profile and Subrosa which takes away from some mods.

Newest part on your bike?
My brand new Subrosa Silva V2 frame.

Oldest part on your bike?
Besides myself, I guess my sprocket and seat!

What do you usually go through the fastest?
Grips, tires, chains and tubes.

Do you have any special ways you need to have your bike setup for it to feel right?
I like my bars even with my fork and a tall set up. That’s the main thing. Psi can range from 50-80 depending what I’m riding.

Does your setup change much or are you pretty consistent with how you like to have it setup?
It’s been about the same feeling for probably 8 years or so. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

So the second version of your signature Subrosa Silva frame just dropped! Can you tell us a little bit about the changes you made this time around? What’s the story on the Emmitt collaboration?
We changed some tubing designs and made it a little more simplified. It feels the same as the first Silva but looks cleaner and is also a bit stronger. The Silva feels good on pretty much any type of BMX terrain as well. As for the limited custom Emmitt frame, it’s just a little more fun version of the other Silva 2’s with a happy Florida twist. You do not have to be a Floridian to ride it, but it’ll sure make you look like one if you do!

You can pick this frame up exclusively through Emmitt BMX for $289.99.

Other than that, how are things going with Subrosa these days? Do you have any trips, videos or anything like that you’re working on?
Things are good! We just got off of a 10 day team trip in Albuquerque, New Mexico. That was a great time except for hurting my foot and only being able to ride part of the trip. Not sure of the other planned trips yet this year with Subrosa just yet, but I’m sure there will be a few good ones coming soon..

Your signature Gator Splatter colorway from Profile Racing has been out a for a while now. Do you have any fresh signature projects cooking with Matt and the rest of the guys you can tell us about?
Yeah, that is done and gone as far as I know. I have another Camo coming out later this year though. It’s a sort of Army style like jungle camo I guess you can say. Looks super rad…. It actually looks better than I visioned it to. I may have other things in the works soon too, but it’s up in the air currently.

Note: Mark’s Gator Splatter hubs are still available in a very limited quantity. Get yourself a set

I know you have done a bunch of trips with Profile lately… Any more in the near future that are planned yet?
Yeah, we’ve been a busy bunch and it’s not done yet. Profile actually sent me to Colombia for the trip I’m currently on for 12 days to stay with Alejandro Caro where we’ve been riding some pretty wild dirt comps as well as exploring the country with Rob Dolecki. After this, we have a bunch more little trips planned such as: Woodward East, Athens, Georgia and many more.

How are things going with the rest of the sponsors? Anything coming up this summer you are looking forward to?
Things are great all around! I’ve been working with Kind bars to help spread the more healthier side of things, and I’ll be working a bit with a super awesome down to earth sunscreen company called SunBum. Both rad companies with great backgrounds and willing to help their communities and many others. I’m Pretty much looking forward to being on my bike and board in as many places as I can.

I know you are always on the move and hitting up some pretty dialed destinations. Where are some of the best places you have had the chance to go so far?
Best places all around, meaning adventures, bmx, surf, culture, foods and people, I’d say Costa Rica, Spain, China, England, France, Ecuador and many other places, actually! Honestly, I think I can say everywhere has been pretty great with how nice and caring people can be and have been… But I think if I absolutely had to pick one place, it would be Costa Rica. (Who knows though… That may change after this trip in Colombia)

Anywhere in particular you haven’t been but want to get to?
Anywhere tropical that I can ride and surf!

What have you been getting into when you aren’t riding these days? I heard you got a pretty rad place right on the beach you are calling home these days.
Yeah, the beach life has been the best change in my life. My lady and I got a rad spot 2 blocks from the surf and things are going so good. I mostly surf when there are waves or my girl and I explore wildlife in some rad spots in the area, either by foot, bike or kayak. If I’m not surfing, riding or digging, then I’m probably with my buddies James Harvey and Brad Barbee and my self work on Wolf Brand stuff cooking up designs, ideas ect…
