Mutant Bikes giving you a look at how their Smile Seat Clamp System works…

Here’s a short but sweet video Mutant Bikes put together showing us how their Smile Seat Clamp System works. If you rode in the early 2000’s this idea might not be a huge surprise, when riders were slamming their seats as low as they could, a few people drilled holes through their seat tube and post so they could run a bolt through and hold their seat post in place. A few even did it for their brake lines to run straight through the seat tube as wel. Either way, Mutant Bikes refined that concept with the Smile Seat Clamp System where they have their frame pre-drilled with a cut out to help with the compression. This also requires the Mutant Bikes seat post that is pre-drilled. Check out the video above to see how it all works. It’s an interesting and unique design, which is always fun to see with so many bikes looking like clones these days.

The Smile Seat Clamp System (SSC System) was designed and developed to be simple, light and functional. It means you do not need extra parts to have your seat tube tightened in the frame, you do not have to worry if the seat will move when the bike falls down or if the clamp screw will break when you’ll tight hard.
