The other week when Nick DiGeroloma sent through his latest edit from a trip he made back to his home state of Ohio, we got talking about what else was new with him. He mentioned that he was about to build up a brand new bike for the first time in a long time. There’s nothing better than a fresh bike, so I figured we better get to work on a bike check. Now you get to start your week off with a look at one real dialed ride along with some rad riding photos he put in some work for to go with this! Let’s take a closer look!

Since you just built up a new bike, what’s your favorite new addition to it?
I really like the new Grim Reaper frame. It has a shorter back end and it feels great.

What’s the oldest part on your bike?
I have some solid female bolts that I run on my peg side. I’ve had them for a couple years now.

How often do you get the chance to build up a new bike?
This was the first time I ever built up a new bike from the ground up, so not often haha.

What do you go through the fastest parts wise?
I go through pedals pretty fast, and I will go through spurts where I blow through tires and tubes for some reason.

Do you have to have your bars or anything on your bike at a set spot or it feels all wrong, or are you the kind of guy who can ride whatever?
I try and put my bars in the same spot all the time. If it is a little off when I first put them on I won’t notice, but if they move while I am riding I OCD out and check them every 5 minutes, haha.

Do you change your setup much? Brakes on, more pegs or anything like that?
I tend to throw brakes on every now and then. Lately, I have been messing around with more pegs too. I am about to put four on and see how that feels. I love changing it up though. Who knows maybe I will throw on some front brakes soon.

How are things going with Eastern these days? Do you have anything cooking with them as far as trips or anything goes?
Things are great with Eastern. Hopefully we will be doing more trips and stuff this year. I am going to the Kitchen Contest this month and Simple Session in March as well. I want to try and hit up the Toronto Jam in between that too.

How about Novik? Any signature gloves or anything cool you can tell us about there?
No signature gloves yet. I do really like the gloves though and hopefully there will be some sweet things in the future with Novik.

So you dropped an edit recently from a trip you made back home to Ohio. Have you been filming for anything else lately? When can we expect some fresh footage of you surfacing?
I haven’t started filming yet, but I plan on getting something going here soon. Hopefully it won’t be too long before I put out some new footage. If not I will get forgotten in the sea of web videos haha.

What are your plans for the rest of the winter? Any trips you want to make happen?
I am going to be hitting up some contests and hopefully filming as much as I can. This will be my first year at Simple and I am pretty psyched on going. I heard it is one hell of a good time.

Where have you been getting most of your riding time in lately?
When I was in Ohio I pretty much just rode Chenga 2. I grew up riding there and the original Chenga, so that place is pretty much home to me. When I am in Greenville I ride at the Animal House quite a bit, but I am trying to make more trips out to Raleigh and some other cities to get in my street cred and mix it up. I also have a pretty sweet little backyard set up at my house that I have been riding quite a bit.

What’s the last trick you learned and what’s on trick you can’t do for the life of you?
I just started messing around with oppo pegs, so the newest trick I learned is probably oppo hangover tooth. I can’t smith 180 at all. That trick hates me.

What have you been getting into when you aren’t riding these days?
When I’m not riding I usually am either hanging out with my roommates, playing Call of Duty, or trying to find some way to entertain myself.

What’s the last song you heard, movie you watched and website you visited?
Thrift Shop, Dodge Ball, and easternbikes.com

Do you have any shout outs or thanks?
I would like to thank my parents for always supporting me no matter what I do, my sister Michelle, Eastern Bikes, Novik Gloves, Josh Perry, Jason Perz, Dan Foley, Daniel Dhers, Leigh Ramsdell, Bob Meade, Kurt from The Union and all my friends and anyone who has helped me out and supported me. Thank you.

Anything else you want to say?
Call me Patrick Swayze, cause I’m Ghost.
Oh, and follow me on Instagram and Twitter – @nickdige
