The other day we were talking to Nick Seabasty to see what was new in his life these days and he had mentioned that he recently built up a brand new bike. Nick recently made a few changes as to who he was riding for leaving him without a bike sponsors, but luckily Grant over at BSD hooked him up with an entire new ride and it turned out damn good! Modifications:
I think I cut my fork but I can’t remember.. Stretched grips. Everything else came perfect the way I wanted it to!

What’s the newest part on your bike? Grips for sure.

What about the oldest?
Pedals surprisingly, I go through pedals pretty often usually but these ones have been good for a while.

What do you usually go through the fastest?
Grips even more than pedals.. Dak grips are actually the only ones I’ve found so far that last me longer than a few weeks.

How do you like your bike setup? Do you have any must haves like top tube length, bars in a certain spot or anything like that?
I’m not that picky but 21.25 is the shortest top tube I’d ride by far, grips stretched, low seat and low psi pretty much sums it up.

Do you build up a new bike pretty frequently or are you more of the ride it till it’s beat to shit kind of guy?
Depends really. It’s a good feeling to have a fresh bike, but I usually just dial it in time to time or end up throwing a fresh coat of flat black over it but I wanna let the raw frame ride out for a bit.

I know since we last talked you have made some decisions to step away from your sponsors. How did your opportunity with BSD come about?
Yeah, been kinda just doing my own thing.. Before I left Cult I had a few conversations with Grant (owner of BSD) and he was down to send me a frame which led to a full bike and I can’t thank him enough for that!

Is there any talk of you actually joining the team or are you just getting some flow for right now?
Haha no, not at all! I’m just thankful enough for everything he’s done to help me out.. I’m not worried about making plans for anything I’m just happy riding and filming with friends!

How are things going with Primary Threads? Do you have any projects cooking with them?
PRIMARY is so sick! They make everything from hats and shirts to jeans and socks and it’s all really good quality so everything fits and feels perfect. And for sure, Robbie and I are constantly talking about new stuff and I’m hyped to see people in the US taking notice to it!

How about with Lotek? I know Rich always has something cooking. Any trips or anything you can tell us about?
Lotek just dropped the new line of shoes and they couldn’t be anymore perfect in my mind.. Rich is constantly working on something new so I have no clue at the moment for anything actually, haha.

I know you had made a pretty good April Fools joke saying you were quitting BMX for good. How did that go over?
Hahaha, that turned out pretty funny, wild to see how many people fell for it at first. I’m far from ever quitting nor would I announce it on a social network, the more I think about it the crazier it is people took it seriously!

Have you been filming for anything at all? When can we expect a new edit or video part out of you?
Last month Smallfry dropped an edit of all my footage from back home then my LFS part made its way online right after.. I think the whole video will be posted soon. I’ve been working on a few projects with Greg Moliterno lately.. Something small will be finished soon but what we’ve really been working on I want to put out around June.

Do you have any travel plans now that the weather is warming up? Anywhere in particular you want to make happen here soon?
I just moved to AZ so it’s refreshing searching a whole new area.. In July I’m going to make my way back Jersey for a few weeks to visit. Besides that nothing much besides quick trips to Cali here and there.

Outside of riding what are you getting into these days? Any new hobbies? Work? Anything like that?
I worked for Advance Auto Parts back home so when I got out here I started working for O’Reilly auto parts.. It’s way less stressful here and I get to ride A LOT more which is all I can ask for. Otherwise, I’m just chillin with friends.. I use my spare time when no one is around to cruise with my headphones and look for new spots / songs

So you made the move to Arizona recently, what triggered that and how has it been going?”
I made the move to AZ this past January and it’s been amazing! One of the obvious reasons for moving was weather, 5 months of cold shitty weather every year builds up.. I always tried to take small trip for a week or 2 every winter but it was getting tough. I was working 45+ hours a week and was still always being broke from NJ being so expensive, It was just time consuming and draining.. I’ll end up back in Jersey one day for sure though.

What’s the scene like in Arizona?
The riding scene is amazing! Especially in Tempe. So many people always riding and it’s dope to see younger kids out killing it! Bobby Kanode recently dropped a local video from here called “Mediocre at Best” which is real dope, and everyone should check that out.

How can people keep up with you these days?
Instagram – @nickseabasty Twitter – nickseabasty .. Unless you wanna find me on Myspace.. You’ll have to ask Scott Marceu or read my Albion interview for that.

Do you have any shout outs or thanks?
For sure, Robbie at PRIMARY, Rich, John Warren and Eric Stefano at TIP/LOTEK, Grant Smith, Scott Marceu, Greg Moliterno, Nick Jones,  Robbie M, shouts to @RodeoPeanut who will most likely find something in here to make fun of.. WallStreet SB, Kurt and BMXunion, Tunney, Frenchie.. I’ll stop there otherwise it’d go on too long haha

Anything else you want to say?
Steel is real, my free coaster keeps making this weird clicking noise and engaging.. Can you fix it for me?
