Odyssey have released their Clutch V2 Freecoaster hub.
Is it time for a new freecoaster? Odyssey have released their new and improved Clutch V2 Freecoaster for you to take a look at. This hub is based on the original Clutch V2 with a few small improvements to make it even better. The concept of the Clutch V2 freecoaster is based off the traditional clutch-based designed, except they have eliminated all of the parts that cause problems. The hub starts out with a 36- hole, 2014-T6 aluminum shell that features a little slider that allows you to adjust the slack of the hub externally. Inside you can find a full 14mm axle with a durable bearing configuration and drag mechanism to reduce the need for repairs.
The V2 improvements feature 14mm chromoly axle bolts on both sides for increased strength, improved clutch engagement and the ability to add more slack than the previous model, improved manufacturing to increase the precision of the mechanical parts and a new proprietary plastic for the removable hub guard that increases durability, making for a longer lasting guard.
The Clutch V2 Freecoaster is available in right and left side drive with a 9-tooth driver, a weight of 22 oz. (623 grams) and color options of black and polished for $189.99 through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Odyssey worldwide now.
Above you can see the slider that covers the external slack adjustment. Need more or less slack? Simply slide the metal strip and use an allen key to adjust in or out to get it right where you want it! The Clutch V2 Freecoaster offers more slack than the previous model, giving riders more of a range to find their perfect amount.
