Drop The Pin – Tom Dugan & Fit Friends

April 10, 2018

Tom Dugan and some of the Fit team drop a pin to ride a random spot!

What happens when you let Tom Dugan drop a pin on a map and see what he can come up with for clips on the spots in the area? Plenty of goodness and laughs. Add in some clips from Jordan Hango, Shawn McIntosh and Matt Nordstrom and you got a real good watch. Hit play and check out what went down!

“Leave it to Tom Dugan to break the mold and do a “Drop The Pin” in reverse order… Haha. We dropped one with Tom, Shawn Mac, Jordan Hango, and Matt Nordstrom with limited time (During Fit’s 2019 complete bikes shoot, but more on that later) and still came across some gems in the form of a community college and a riverbed / ditch with a plethora of setups. Tommy and the dudes made use to say the least.” – Ride BMX

Chris Doyle – Unreleased Footage

April 10, 2018

Tom Arkus dug into the archives and pulled out some unreleased footage from 10 years ago…

Yesterday it was announced that Chris Doyle had collapsed during a Kink Trip and he was hospitalized. There wasn’t a lot of details on just what happened, but we do know that Chris is recovering and is going to ride another day, which is great news. With the news circulating, a ton of riders have been coming out to show support for Chris. Last night we got a look at the Chris Doyle Benefit T-Shirts that Kriss Bennett is working on, and now today we get a look at some unreleased footage Tom Arkus had from 10 years ago that features Chris riding at Tim’s barn and Ray’s MTB in Cleveland. Although this footage is 10 years old, you might have some trouble seeing that since Chris’ style is so timeless. Give this a watch, then go pick up a Benefit T-Shirt Right Here for $20 to help Chris and his family out with the medical bills.

April 10, 2018

Minneapolis will continue to host the summer X Games through 2020!

Below is the official press release. It’s also 100 days until X Games 2018 kicks off in Minneapolis, so get ready!

– U.S. Bank Stadium will Continue to Host Summer Edition of X Games Through 2020
– Announcement Marks 100 Days Out from X Games Minneapolis 2018
– First Wave of Invited Athletes Revealed today at XGames.com

Heading into the second year as a host city for the summer version of X Games, ESPN, Sports Minneapolis and U.S. Bank Stadium have reached a two-year extension agreement to host X Games Minneapolis through 2020.

“Our first year in Minneapolis proved what an incredible fan experience X Games at U.S. Bank Stadium can offer and we are excited to build on that success over the next three years,” said Tim Reed, vice president, X Games. “Minneapolis and U.S. Bank Stadium have quickly established themselves as a destination for the world’s top sport and entertainment brands and we look forward to building off of a terrific first year in Minneapolis.”

“Minneapolis is tailor-made to host ESPN’s X Games,” said Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. “With a zip line over the Mississippi and Levi LaVallee’s backflip on a snowmobile in the heart of downtown Minneapolis this winter, we’ve shown the world we know how to live on the edge and what we can do as a world-class host for major sporting events. That’s why it only makes sense that our city will be the home of the X Games through 2020.”

“Following the success of the ESPN X Games in Minneapolis in 2017, we’re excited to announce the X Games will stay in Minneapolis through 2020,” said Executive Director of Sports Minneapolis and Meet Minneapolis President and CEO Melvin Tennant. “With a four-day attendance of nearly 110,000, the ESPN X Games gave fans a chance to enjoy some of the most thrilling athletes in the world last year, along with great concerts at an affordable price. Add to that the national and international coverage; it’s clear the X Games are a big win for Minneapolis.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome the X Games back to Minnesota this summer and to have the opportunity to host them again in 2019 and 2020,” said Michael Vekich, Chair of the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority. “This international competition showcases the versatility of U.S. Bank Stadium and puts Minnesota in a global spotlight with extremely talented athletes from around the world.”

“U.S. Bank Stadium shines with the multi-day, high-energy event that is the X Games,” said Patrick Talty, SMG General Manager at U.S. Bank Stadium. “We look forward to hosting this event year over year, raising the standard of service excellence, and creating memorable experiences for all of our guests and athletes.”

With X Games Minneapolis just 100 days away, tickets are available now at XGames.com in addition to the first wave of invited athletes. This year’s event will feature the world’s top action sports athletes over four days of Skateboard, BMX, Moto X and Harley-Davidson Flat Track competition at U.S. Bank Stadium.
