NAFFITA BMX – Pista De Skate

July 31, 2016

KaĆque Nogueira sent through the latest from the NAFFITA BMX crew down in Brazil. This time we get a solid mix from one of their local skateparks where they all went to work putting the rails and ledges to good use. This was all filmed on the VX, so the footage is a little rough around the edges, but the riding definitely makes up for it. Take a look!

Luckily, he finally caught a break and has been getting back into the swing of things. Here’s a bunch of clips from some of his sessions so far, at a bunch of different skateparks!

“Clips all filmed with iPhone shows my progression of getting back on the bike after multiple injuries, the major one being my broken thumb. Thanks to Lisa Kap and Taylor Thomas for filming the moving clips, stationary tripod clips self filmed. Song is by the hives “you got it all wrong”.”

Scotty Cranmer – Vans US Open: Day 6

July 30, 2016

The 6th video from Scotty Cranmer‘s trip out to California for the Van Doren Invitational is now online. This time around most of the video gives us a look at what went down during the qualifiers for the contest. Hit play to check out a TON of amazing riding that went down, along with some ridiculous Big Boy time at the end! We’re pretty sure that’s the first front flip drop to sand.

“day 6 of the california trip starts at he course but this time it’s show time! The day of the qualifying for the Vans BMX bowl competition! We all brought our A game and we let the good times roll! I did a few tricks that i was pumped on including a 720 flair tailtap and a corked 720 over the volcano! Trey Jones rode without any shoes on and did a flair and back flip! Matty Cranmer rode amazing with high speed runs and huge airs and ended up qualifying for the finals on sunday! After the event we did an autograph signing for Vans and a woman brought a parrot and let us hold her! We all took a ride to the beach to watch the sunset and Big Boy decided that he wanted to attempt a new trick that he had just learned but never attempted on street! Big Boy almost landed a bunnyhop front flip from a cement side walk into the sand on the beach! He tried it a few times and decided it was too dark so we are heading back tomorrow to try and land it! This trip has been insane!”

Odyssey – Kable BMX Lock

July 30, 2016

odyssey-kable-bmx-bike-lock-1

It looks like Odyssey have another option for locking up your bike beyond their new Slugger U-Lock that we got a look at the other week. Above is a look at their new retractable Kable Lock. This lock, similar to Subrosa’s Combat lock, is a lightweight and compact temporary security measure that’s ideal for locking up your camera bag when you’re filming at a spot and might take your eye off it for a few seconds or if you need something to lock your bike up when you run in to grab something quick from the store. This is NOT meant to be a lock for extended time periods since it wouldn’t take much to cut the cable. It’s more or less to deteriorate a quick grab or to slow down somebody if they’re making a move.

The Kable Lock is designed to look like a tape recorder, but Odyssey also include other decals like a pager, GPS and cell phone. It uses a combination lock, so you don’t have to keep track of keys. The lock is available for $22.99 through BMX Shops and mail-orders that carry Odyssey worldwide now!

Looking for something a little beefier? Check out the Odyssey Slugger U-Lock!
