Product: Fly Bikes – 2016 Devon Smillie Signature Fuego Frame

December 25, 2015

fly-bikes-2016-fuego-bmx-frame-trans-black-full

Fly Bikes have released full details on the 2016 Devon Smillie signature Fuego frame! It looks like they have made a number of changes to the frame for this year versus last year to make it stronger, which is never a bad thing.

“For 2016, Devon Smillie wanted to make a few changes to his signature Fuego frame. First off, you will notice that there are now tapered external gussets on the top and down tubes. These are over the existing internal integrated gussets that were previously found on his frame last year, making for double the gussets and a super strong front end! Devon also wanted to raise his seat tube height a quart of an inch and shorten the back end up. All in all, it’s a super strong frame that’s built to take some heavy abuse. Add in a couple fresh coats of paint and an additional top tube length and we have the 2016 Fuego frame!

Tubing: Seamless 4130 Sanko chromoly
Head tube angle: 75.5
Seat tube angle: 71
Standover height: 9.25″
Bottom bracket height: 11.75″
Chain stay length: 13.35″
Top tube lengths: 20.5″ and 21″
Colors: Semi-Translucent Brown, Translucent Black and Flat Grey
Weight: 5.57 lb.

Our full range of 2016 complete bikes, frames and parts are available worldwide through Flybikes dealers now!”

You can also find Investment Cast drop outs with a removable chain tensioner, Investment Cast seat post clamp with the horizontal cut system, tapered and butted tubing and more. Full specs and details can be found right here. View more photos below!

Goodfeelin’ – DITCH In Europe

December 25, 2015

Back in 2013, the DITCH crew made their way to Europe for spots, good times and most likely loose women. For whatever reason, it took two years for this to surface online, but that’s okay because we’re just glad all of this gold was transformed into a dialed BMX video! Watch this one because it’s damn good from start to finish! Spot after spot and real solid riding. You can’t go wrong! We’re just surprised there wasn’t any party footage from these guys, haha.

…. Ditch.

Snakebite dropped this rad BMX video from a jam that went down on Xavier Mendez’s backyard ramp recently. This had a huge mix of riders from pros, to the young guns, on up to a couple of legends. Needless to say, this looks like it was a damn good time! Enjoy!

Product: Reeb Cycles – Zak Early “ReeBMX” Frame – $800

December 24, 2015

zak-early-bmx-bike

When we posted up The Most Expensive Custom BMX Bike? post earlier today, we got quite a few people stirring about more expensive parts or ways to make a bike more expensive. Then, Jon over at Can You Dig It pointed out that Zak Earley has a signature frame through a company called Reeb Cycles that is priced at… wait for it… $800. We had to get a look at it, but unfortunately there wasn’t much for photos other than Zak’s personal bike. But, there were full specs and details.

The ReeBMX frame is made from Tru Temper OX Platinum tubing (the same stuff Standard Bykes uses) with a 75-degree head tube angle, 69-degree seat tube angle, 11.6″ bottom bracket height, 10″ standover height and a 13.6″ chain stay length. You can find an integrated head tube, gussets on the top and down tubes, a MID bottom bracket and welded seat stay brake mounts. It’s available in colors of white, silver, black, green, blue and red with a weight of less than 5 lbs. (doesn’t say an exact number).

We’re not quite sure if any have sold, but we can imagine those margins for a $800 frame are pretty healthy considering a Standard frame with the same tubing and features goes for around $400. The only frame that comes to mind that is / was more expensive was the Titanium Eastern Grim Reaper frame. You can check out the frame right here.

Scotty Cranmer – Game of BIKE: Wheel of Misfortune

December 24, 2015

We’ve seen a lot of Games of B-I-K-E over the years, but this is definitely a unique one. Scotty Cranmer cooked up the “Wheel of Misfortune” which adds to whatever trick the rider wants to do… Whether it’s a backwards fork, 25 PSI in the tires, shoes backwards or something else, it definitely makes this game pretty interesting. Check it out!

“So we decided to mix things up a little bit! A game of bike is awesome! But, what if you make a BMX wheel that spin with nails sticking out of the tires with a cardboard circle that has 10 different disabilities written on it that is built on a wooden stand and scrap parts from your garage? Then you have the Wheel Of Misfortune! We had so much fun filming this video and we were so happy with the way the game played out! I’m excited to do more of these!”
