“The Vienna Stadthalle hosted a high-impact ‘M.O.D’ season kick-off weekend
It was hard to imagine just how the new highly-publicised ‘Pushing the Limits’ version of the show could possibly top or exceed past M.O.D highs. Even with many of the big-name International action-sports returning, the show had several unexpected and exciting additions.
I was thinking of the BMX Masters when I hit play on this one… Whoops. Take a peek at the Masters of Dirt show that went down in Vienna this past weekend. It’s a lot like Nitro Circus, but less random things like couches and big wheels being sent off the ramps. This looks like it’s a pretty good show to see!
“Masters of Dirt by Monster Energy ensured that every one of the over 25 000 fans in Vienna this weekend, were kept on their edge of their seat for every segment of the new show.
The first-ever Synchro Tandem backflips went down a treat; with two motorcycles, both with a rider AND passenger on board, performing side-by-side backflips. Rocky and Antonio’s successful premier attempt of the Tandem body-switch had to be seen to be believed!
Monster Energy’s 14 year old FMX star Matej Cesak split wins with BMX’er Tobi Merz in the new ‘Rookie Showdown’ segment. Edgar ‘ET’ Torronteras won 3 of the 4 ‘Best Whip’ events from Marc Pinol as they pushed the limits of gravity to burst a huge balloon hanging 15m above the ground – with their rear wheels!
The Vienna shows marked the launch of the new M.O.D range of lifestyle clothing and accessories, specially designed from the ground up to fit the M.O.D way of life.
Thanks to all of our partners and sponsors for their support in getting the 2014 tour rolling so successfully, most notably: Monster Energy, Neft Vodka, willhaben.at, Nokia, Raiffeisen Club, ORF, Krone Hit Radio, ‘Osterreich’ newspaper and lastly PayLife Quick. Our new partner that helped us successfully produce the first-ever cashless indoor show of it’s kind.
M.O.D have confirmed more ‘Pushing the Limits’ tour stops in Hamburg, Berlin, Zurich and Linz later this year, as well as more new dates and stops to be announced soon! “
I can’t tell you what Tom Van Den Bogaard is talking about specifically, but I can tell you he’s talking about some of his favorite aspects of BMX and throws down some real good riding at the 040 Skatepark. Take a peek!
