Merritt gave Charlie Crumlish his own grip, and now his own ad for his own grip. Makes sense, right? See it int he next Dig.
Never would I have thought that a press release about a team not changing was worth posting. Not until this year, that is. Sounds like the entire Total team is going to be safe for at least the next 357 days. Also, there is some contest news that might be of interest if you like in the UK:
“In these times of austerity we have seen so many awesome riders getting fired from sponsors and a lot of brands pull out of BMX all together, and it has been a bit depressing reading the press releases each day. We have to stop the rot, ha.
We are happy to share a bit of positive news as we are delighted to announce our ongoing commitment to support BMX and our riders by signing Daniel Sandoval, Kyle Baldock and Todd Meyn on fresh improved contracts along with Mark Webb and Alex Coleborn signing new ones in the summer past.
Our riders are a part of our brand we value above all else, so we are blessed that they choose to ride for Total BMX and are loyal to our cause. Riders for riders and all the clichés you want, but its true and with these fellow riders support we have been able to come a long way and the loyalty goes both ways.
We also have a plan to run an Amateur contest series in the U.K. Which will have a year end title up for grabs.More news to follow on the Total BMX Amateur series as soon as we are further down the line with it.
Hope to see you at an event this year with the Total BMX Crew letting loose, first up Simple Session 14, lets party!
Cheers,
Ronnie Remo.”

Here’s a little sneak peek that I’m real stoked on. Subrosa dropped this sneak peek of the second version of Simone Barraco’s signature Noster frame that will be available in April! This time around they’ve given it this translucent gold colorway that looks so, so good, gave the head tube a 75.5-degree angle, made the drop outs smaller and removed the brake mounts! Expect more details closer to its release!
Now this is what I’m talking about! Defgrip dropped this new video Hoang Tran put together from a trip that him, Tom Perry and their buddy Dylan (who reminds me a lot of Dirt Ron) took from San Diego up to San Francisco! This video documents everything they got into from riding to camping, getting loose in a dorm hallway and more. Take a peek because this is one video you won’t want to miss!
“This little trip I took with my friends Tom and Dylan was nothing more than an excuse to get out of town for a couple of days. We barely did any planning for this trip beside figuring out some key destinations. We decided to take a roadtrip up to San Francisco and do some camping along the way. There are two main interstates you can take to get to San Fransisco from San Diego. The fastest route, that’s up the 5 which takes about 7 hours with no stops, or you can take the 1 (Coast Hwy) which takes 10+ hours but filled with incredible views. For us, it was going to be about making good time, but for us now this is measured with the emphasis on “Good” rather than “time” and when you make the shift in emphasis the whole approach changes. So we went up the 1…
The rest of the trip was based around this motto and many good times were had. This video showcases some of the experiences on the way up and our short stay in San Francisco. Thanks to Tom for doing all the animation and helping with the filming; Erin Barker for her photography and letting us crash at her freshman college dormitory that housed a group named the sexy six…,Dylan for partying the sexy six to levels of panty incineration.” – Hoang Tran
