Nick Steben is one person who I’m completely jealous of. Some how, he manages to live his life by simply making enough money to take time off from work to go on a trip to ride, surf, shoot photos or whatever he really wants to do. Over the years, he’s traveled to a ton of places and along the way he’s shot some amazing photos. We’ve been fortunate enough to run a few photogalleries from him in the past, and we plan on doing more in the future. Here’s his latest sample of his work from trips he’s taken the past few months featuring riders like Stevie Churchill, Mike Brennan, Jeff Klugiewicz, Mark Mulville, Mark Potoczny, Brandon Begin and more! Check it!

Here’s a look at S&M‘s latest print ad featuring Fathead and his signature Fathead bars! This can be found in issue 13 of The Albion.
Spotted this over on Can You Dig It. Robbie Miranda strapped a GoPro on for the Boozer Jam that went down at Sheephills this past weekend. Take a little ride with him to see how well the legendary spot is running these days along with the HUGE turnout to help benefit Mike “Boozer” Brown!
It looks like BMX The Game is making some more forward progress. Above is a new update giving you a look at their editor system that allows you to create your own spot to ride, piece by piece and even edit a character to look just like you. They’re hoping you guys will help support the project by donating to their Kickstarter Page to help raise the funds to launch the initial version of the game. Based on this, it’s really showing a lot of potential, so get stoked!
A few months back, The Boardroom’s Wolfy, Graham Glennon, Derek Johnson and Eoin Shiel loaded up for a trip to Ireland to check out some spots and get a good vacation in before the shitty weather hit. This is the video from the trip that they were able to film during their time on the road. It looks like it was a hell of a good time! Take a peek!
“So, after almost long enough for it to drift in to myth and legend, here is the Boardroom family holiday, 2012 – “The Mess Out West” or “Two old men, a cripple and Wolfy.”
Just before the winter set in, 4 of us hopped into the van and headed off towards the west to see what we could find in Galway, Mayo and anywhere else along the way. The only plans aside from that were three days of driving, riding the bikes, camping anywhere we could find and surviving on veggie burgers/sausages and beer from the cooler in the back. Between Wolfy, Graham Glennon, Derek Johnson and myself (Eoin Shiel) we figured we’d have a good trip no matter what happened.
We had unexpected sunshine at times, were rained on, we slept on a beach, rode everywhere we could find and on our last night slept in a roadside shed to avoid a heavy storm… only to be woken up by a rather frightened old man at 4 in the morning…
Despite Wolfy nearly getting us run out of a small Mayo town for ordering anything other than Guinness in the local, it was one of the best Irish trips we’ve ever been on. Good times on the road with old friends cannot be beaten.
Anyway, to the lads – sorry this took so long to put out, but the days of computer meltdown’s are (hopefully!) a thing of the past!
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks to:
The Boardroom
The Barstool Crew for coming out for a session or two
Nurofen plus. I’d have been left shivering in the van, clutching my foot without you.
Filmed on – Canon 7d (I know, no 3ccd… and I’ll be buying a steadycam!)
Edited on – A working computer
Music – Bruce “The Promised Land””
It looks like the X-Games are making some changes to help give some unknown talent the chance to get some shine time. Find out all about Red Bull Phenom in the video above and the press release below, then get out their and start stacking clips.
“Are you the next BMX street legend? You could be about to find out, as Red Bull launches Red Bull Phenom, a search for the hottest new action sports stars. To enter you simply need to submit a 60 second video of yourself pulling off your best moves and register on redbullphenom.com between April 8th to June 17th. The videos will then be judged on talent, performance and style by BMX icon Mike Escamilla, the man who even backflipped a helicopter once. The six best BMX street ‘phenoms’ will receive a once-in-a-lifetime all-expenses paid trip to X Games Los Angeles, Calif. USA in August where they will compete against each other for a chance to have their own video profile produced by Red Bull.
Comments Mike Escamilla: “I’m pretty stoked to be a part of
Red Bull Phenom. It is a great opportunity to be an ambassador of a sport I have given everything to and to help find and nurture the next generation of talent.”
The competition is open to non-pros between the ages of 13 and 19. All you have to do to enter is upload your video to YouTube using the key words “Red Bull Phenom” and then submit the video link and other information onto redbullphenom.com. Full entry details and rules can also be found on the website.
So don’t waste any time. Get out there and nail that move and send us the YouTube link!
