The Source – Winter Bowl Edit

March 27, 2013

I really hope I can stop saying “winter” for a while. That would be great, haha. Either way, check out this rad new video from Source BMX Shop featuring Josh Heritage, Jordan O’kane, Wildcat, Marc Moore, Phil Martin, Tom Gerrard, The Fids and Marc Goodwin getting some time in on their bowl in Hastings, England. Looks like the perfect place to avoid the cold weather and have some good times.

Deluxe – Joyride 150 POV

March 27, 2013

Spotted this video over on Can You Dig It. Last weekend, Deluxe‘s Mark Potoczny made his way to Toronto with his brother, Mike, and his dad. While they were there, they made a stop at Joyride to get some riding time in. Check out some helmet cam clips of the brothers getting some laps in. Love this place.

“These clips are from this past week end. My brother Mike and I went to Toronto Canada with our dad to watch the supercross, but we couldn’t resist hitting up Joy Ride 150 during the day. The pump track and the bigger rhythm were the high lights of the park to me, so I decided to get some shots of both of them. The rhythm has a cool berm shot in the back corner that really stood out. The pump track was designed really well with a lot of cool camel back rollers and flowy berms. If you have the chance to go and a passport definately hit this place up.” – Mark Potoczny

The Daily Grind – Scott Steele Wall Ride Gone Wrong

March 27, 2013

If you have seen The Daily Grind‘s DVD, you have seen the gnarly crash Scott Steele took doing a wallride. This is an extended version of the crash and it’s seriously scary as fuck. If you have ever been looking for a reason to wear a helmet, this one might be for you. Luckily Scott made it out of this one alright but it could have been way worse.

“While filming for The Daily Grind BMX DVD Scott Steele attempts to wall ride over this gap into a steep bank, but it doesn’t go the way he planned at all! Heres what its like to be there while filming for a BMX video. To see more go to TheDailyGrindBMX.com and buy the full length DVD!!“

Boozer Jam 2013 Flyer

BoozerJam2013

Live near Sheep Hills in Costa Mesa, California? Make your way there on April 7th for a jam to help raise money for Mike “Boozer” Brown! This is bound to be a damn good time and it’s for a great cause, so be there!

“Last fall one of the Sheep Hills Locals by the name of Mike “Boozer” Brown crashed in a BMX race in Reno and broke his back which has landed him in a wheelchair. Mike has spent more time at Sheep Hills than most of us digging, riding and something that has to do with his nickname.

On 7 April we’re going to get together at Sheep Hills for the Boozer Jam. Mike will be there and so will the Sheep Hills Locals, current Pro racers, the BMX media, BMX friends and family, current dirt jump pro riders and old school BMX-ers. It will be a gathering of sorts when Todd Lyons, Robert de Wilde, Ryan Guettler, Barspinner, Anthony Reyes, Robbie Miranda, Jerry Badders, Brandon Dosch, Chris Moeller, Paul Roberts, Andy Zeiss, Jason German, Dylan Pfohl, Adam & Jason Pope, Mike de Wit, Ben Snowden, Sean Duncan, Shaun Butler, Dale Holmes, Bogi Givens, Steve Boehmke, Chris Hughes, Bart de Jong, Freddy Chulo and the likes will meet up for an afternoon of fun at Sheep Hills.

You can come down too. Riding and spectating is free. Down for a good time?

Red Bull Framed Reactions Seeks New Boarders in Amsterdam

March 27, 2013

Well, it looks like Red Bull is back at it again with another wild contest. This time they’re going to Amsterdam to try out a new course layout that’s bound to make for an interesting event. Check out what’s going on below.

“Riders face new challenges on 8 June at Westergasfabriek

Amsterdam, Netherlands. With more bicycles than inhabitants, Amsterdam breathes cycling. On June 8th, when the sun goes down, 16 world class BMX riders will be competing at the Red Bull Framed Reactions, an event that will have a changing park course, a first in BMX’s history. The Westergasfabriek will be the venue of the action where master ramp builder and designer Nate Wessel will present a course with moving elements.

Event sports director Andy Zeiss has high expectations: “The event will write history in BMX I’m sure. Created by mastermind Nate Wessel the course will offer some crazy and never been seen before features. All riders will need to re-think their normal riding and take it to the next level in Amsterdam.” He continues: “Supported by a Dutch crowd it can only be awesome, everyone knows that Holland is THE bicycle enthusiastic country out there!”

One of the top favourite riders expected to adapt to the rotating ramps and unique features well is Drew Bezanson. The Canadian not only has a big bag of tricks but is known for riding any terrain in an original way. The possibility to change the course to his liking during the competition will bring strategic plans in order to show the best riding.

Daniel Wedemeijer from Amsterdam is one of the riders making an appearance at the Red Bull Framed Reactions and hopes to make it to the final round that evening. “It feels very special to see an event of this size come to Amsterdam. To be able to compete that day is very unique and I’m looking forward to it,” the 23 year old said.

Who will adapt to the moving and changing obstacles best? On the evening of June 8th we will know.

Spectating is free.”
