The Ryan Taylor Memorial Jam

November 14, 2012

The other week, BMX lost a rider named Ryan Taylor. As always, it sucks losing a talented rider and it’s never easy hearing about these things happening. A bunch of Ryan’s friends got together on November 4th for a jam in his memory. Check out the video giving you a look at what went down. Rest in Peace, Ryan!

“On Sunday the 4th of November we had a Jam in Memory of our good friend Ryan Taylor
The whole riding scene of Manchester came together to celebrate what Ryan loved doing best, riding BMX and having a good laugh.
So I was there capture the events and above is the results.
Thanks to Everyone that came out for a good time, shout out to Central Skatepark for hosting and Tommy G for getting it booked, it was great to see you all.

Through The Lens: A Different Perspective #2

November 14, 2012

As a photographer I am always searching out ways to set myself apart and create content that people will be into. It’s one of the biggest challenges and one of the hardest parts about it to be honest, especially these days when everyone has a camera of some sort with them on a regular basis whether it is a digi-cam or an iphone and life is being documented by the minute. It’s a mix of doing what makes you happy and trying to figure out what will make viewers happy as well. That’s where this new “A different perspective” idea came from. Over the years I have interviewed tons of pro riders about anything and everything except one important topic. What is it like from their perspective to go out and shoot with a photographer? What it is that makes one person better to shoot with than others? I have always wondered about what goes on inside a riders mind before they prepare to shoot a crazy banger and put all of their trust into the photographer. Check out some more photos from my trusty disposable camera from the X Games and see what Rob Wise, Aaron Ross and Josh Harrington all had to say for the second edition of “A different perspective.”

FISE Experience – Paris

November 14, 2012

Mike King coming through with a dialed new edit from the FISE Experience mini ramp contest in Paris, France the other week. Check it!

“Immediately after the Skylines contest, The Paris Week Of Games, an enormous gaming exhibition was host to the final stop in the FISE Experience tour.
A bizarre scene for a contest, but nonetheless Daniel Dhers, Dennis Enarson, Ben Hennon, Daniel Wedemeijer, Jack Clark and Rob Darden fought their exhaustion from the Red Bull contest a few days prior and smashed the contest in front of thousands of eagle eyed gaming geeks, joined by Declan Brooks, Ryan Cunliffe and Logan Martin, who flew over from Australia and took 1st.
Song: Tycho – Coastal Break
Filmed and edited by Mike King on a Panasonic HMC-150 for Fast Forward BMX
