2nd Annual BV Jam Flyer

If you have noticed, I’ve been slacking a little with the originals. I apologize! I’ve been busy working on getting things organized for my annual contest / jam that I’ve been throwing in Minnesota for the last 8 or 9 years now. This year, we will be having it at Bluff Valley Campground’s Over The Top Skatepark in Zumbro Falls, Minnesota for the second year on FEBRUARY 4th! I’m in absolute shock by how much support I was able to get for this one this year. I’d like to give a HUGE shout out to all the sponsors for this year.

As you can see from the flyer, we will be running two contests. One for the beginner and intermediate guys. It will be a jam format. After the contest, we will run a JR. Biggest Air, Jr. Colony Highest Bunnyhop and Jr. Footdown! Registration opens at 10 A.M and the contest will start at Noon for these guys.

After that wraps up, we’ll be running a Pro X Expert contest at 2 PM for the big dogs. It will be a jam format with a cash purse! We will try and fire it out as quick as possible so we can get to the DELUXE Biggest Air where we will be giving the winner a frame from Deluxe, S&M World Record Manual contest, Longest Skid, Division Brand Rail jam, Colony Highest Bunnyhop, FBM Pizza Eating contest, and more.

There may be a video premiere or two depending if the videos are done (Fingers crossed).

It will be a $20 entry fee for the day. That gets you into the contests (if you want), all of the jams for prizes, riding for the entire day with a FREE EVENT T-SHIRT. That and I’d imagine you will be walking away with over $20 in prizes anyways. Free entry for spectators!

So come out for what’s looking like a DAMN GOOD TIME on February 4th here in Minnesota at Over the Top Skatepark.

“Episode 6 is here, the second of 2012. We take a look at the skills and insane hop Dakota Roche has in the recent Cinema Wheels edit. Also, late breaking edits and news that needs atttention. First up is the 40th birthday of The Condor, Mat Hoffman. Thats right kids, 40 years old and still puts all of us in awe. As a thank you for everyone’s birthday wishes Mat posted a short two trick run on youtube. This isn’t to be taken lightly, since those tricks include a 540 tab into a flair. Not your average run. Second is a call to action for some trails that are on the chopping block. We go over a quick edit of Mike Cottle and discuss the impending trouble at Florida’s Casselberry Trails. Just as a quick point the city of Casselberry is sticking the land owners and locals with code violations and hiding behind nonsense environmental accusations as reason to plow the trails. Casselberry Trails Update

Head over to the Wasted Youth site for a quick update on what’s going on with the Casselberry Trails Vs. Casselberry City situation from Mike Cottle. There was also a video on the local news that shows the city won’t even cooperate with proving they “sent notices in 2008”. As far as I’m concerned, if they won’t prove it with documentation then they don’t have proof.
I still can’t believe after all these years they just now are trying to shut the place down. Ridiculous.

Ahhh, it’s Camzilla!…. Okay, that might make more sense after you watch the video then hit the Ride UK website to get a closer look at the cover.

“The first issue of the new year is here! Who would of thought that we would be shooting a cover on something as simple as a concrete block. A concrete block which is situated less then 100 meters from Ride UK HQ. About a month ago, these cold and crusty looking blocks outside the Smithfield Meat Market found themselves a new lease of life, when Berlin based street artist, Evol gave them a fresh lick of paint.

We joked about shooting a riding photo on these blocks, but there was no doubt about it though as they look pretty sweet whether you’re into “street art” or not. As the shorter-than-normal-Christmas deadline approached we needed a cover and Cam Hardy was on hand to come visit the Ride UK HQ and shoot on the transformed concrete block. Check it out!”
