Since Darren Bouldin’s 17th Birthday he has been putting on bike jams. What started out as a small get together with some backyard ramps and just a handful of friends has grown over the years into becoming one of the biggest and most anticipated celebrations in North Carolina. With riders from all over the state and country coming to share in what is possibly the best birthday gift anyone could ever receive. This year Darren and some of the area locals really wanted to step it up from last year’s gathering and within a few weekends they built an entirely new hip line which everyone couldn’t stop talking about afterwards. You see the DB Gold Rush at GMG Trails was not just another Jam or birthday party, for most it was a family reunion and a chance to spend some quality time with the friends and people you care about. Darren has the kind of intoxicating personality that no matter who you are or where you’re from you are immediately drawn towards him. His positive outlook on life and uncanny ability to smile even when his chips are down is like a breathe of fresh air. He is easily one of the nicest and most genuine people I know and I’m grateful to call him friend. I just hope we get to have another 8 years of these in our future.
