Are you on the hunt for a new BMX stem? Did you know that Odyssey have released 5 (yes, five) new stems this year for Tom Dugan, Aaron Ross, Sean Sexton, Broc Raiford and Chase Hawk that are bound to meet your needs? Let’s take a look at each of these stems by making the jump!
The DGN stem is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a 51mm reach and 28mm rise. This top load stem has extra CNCM aching on the sides, internally and a recessed top for a flush fork compression cap. The edges are also beveled and the back is rounded to make it knee friendly.
The DGN Stem weighs in at 11 oz. and is available in black and high polished.
Similar to the DGN stem, Aaron Ross’ “BOSS” Stem is similar as far as aesthetics go, but this stem features a 52mm reach and a taller 35mm Rise and additional machining in the front and on the bottom. There is extra CNC machining on the sides, front, bottom, internally and a recessed top for a flush fork compression cap. The edges are also beveled and the back is rounded to make it knee friendly.
The Boss stem weighs in at 11 oz. and is available in black and high polished.
Broc Raiford’s Raft Stem looks more like the DGN stem, minus a little machining on the top cap. This stem is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a 50mm reach and 30mm rise. There is extra machining on the sides and a recessed top for a flush compression cap.
The Raft stem weighs in at 11.4 oz. with black and high polished for the color options.
The 4th stem in the line up is the Sean Sexton signature stem. This stem is almost identical to Aaron Ross’ “Boss” stem, except it features a 48mm reach and 33mm rise. Aesthetically it looks the same with the same machining, shorter and lower.
The SXTN stem weighs in at 11 oz. with black and high polish for the colors!
For 2015, Chase Hawk wanted to update his signature stem, but give it a more traditional look. This Front Load stem is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a 53mm reach and 7.5mm rise. The stem is pretty simple and sleek all around with a laser etched ODSY logo on the front plate, a recessed top for the flush fork compression cap and a little internal machining for additional weight savings.
The Hawk 02 stem weighs in at 11.4 oz. with colors of black and high polished.
