Product: Subrosa – Nickel Bullen Thunderbeast Frame

This past summer, Subrosa gave Nick Bullen the well deserved bump up to the pro team after kicking a bunch of ass on the Skeleton crew for a while! To start off 2015 right, they have given Nick his own signature colorway on Scott Ditchburn’s Thunderbeast frame along with a signature Pizza tripod seat that’s in the works as well. We were digging this shiny piece of work, so we figured it would be a good time to take a closer look at the Nickel Bullen Thunderbeast! Let’s do this!

Let’s start this out with all of the specs and details. The Thunderbeast frame is made from 4130 chromoly with a 75-degree head tube angle, 69-degree seat tube angle, 11.6″ bottom bracket height, 9″ standover height, a 13.75″ chain stay length (13.50″ slammed) and top tube lengths of 20.5″, 20.75″ and 21″. The frame features gussets on the top an down tubes with Subrosa logos, a double butted top and down tube, an ovalized down tube to help resist denting, an Investment cast wishbone and seat stay bridge, flattened chain and seat stays at the drop outs to allow for hub guard clearance, laser cut 6mm drop outs, an integrated seat post clamp and low profile removable brake mounts. The head tube, bottom bracket and drop outs all receive Subrosa’s Deathproof heat-treatment and there is a decal sheet included so you can customize the look to your liking. The Thunderbeast frame weighs in at 5.1 lb. (21″).

The removable brake mounts can be found on the seat stays.

The Nickel Bullen Thunderbeast frame features a Nickel plating (hence the name), which is similar to chrome plating but features a slightly gold tint to it versus the more blue color chrome can put off. This frame is available for $339.99 on Dan’s Comp now or you can have your local shop get ahold of Sparky’s Distribution to get you one ordered up today! If you aren’t feeling the Nickel color, this frame is also available in matte black and concrete grey!
