January 15, 2015

United Bike Co. Region BMX frame

If you have been on Instagram or Facebook the past week, there’s a good chance you might have caught a look at the new United Bike Co. frame, the Region, that was designed by the U.K’s Tom Sanders! This frame has a lot of unique details that really made it stand out, so we hit the guys over at United up get a few photos and info on the new frame so you can get a good look before it drops here soon! Let’s take a closer look!

United BMX Region Frame

Let’s start out with the specs on this unit! The Region frame is a full 4130 chromoly frame with a 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.8″ bottom bracket height, 9″ standover height and a 13.2″ chain stay length (slammed). This frame was designed to have a slightly longer feel to it to reduce the twitchy feel some of the street specific frames offer these days. Tom chose to go with a higher, more traditional 9″ standover height to get away from the low slung look that some frames offer these days as well.

The details on this frame are what really make it stand out. This frame features gussets on the top and down tubes with the embossed “UTD” logo, a tapered top tube, a tapered and ovalized down tube to help reduce denting, a tapered seat tube, extra wide tapered seat stays and tapered ovalized chain stays to give clearance for 2.40″ tires and help resist denting from grinding, an integrated seat post clamp, a custom “UTD” seat stay bridge, matching tapering on the Mid bottom bracket and integrated head tube and no brake mounts for a clean look.
