Products: Vol. VI

May 26, 2012

The weeks are flying by lately. It’s crazy to think this is already the sixth edition of Products: that we are featuring on the site. Who knows where time goes anymore…
This week we’ve got 5 fresh products for you to check out. Take a closer look at Cinema Wheel Co.‘s 333 rear wheel, Sam Lowe’s signature grip from Wethepeople, the Caravela sprocket from Mutant, Madera‘s heat-treated cranks and Cooper Brownlee’s signature Twenty Four Seven bars from Colony. Check it!

All right, so let’s kick this week off with Cinema Wheel Co.‘s 333 rear cassette wheel. You can find a 36-hole 6061 aluminum hub shell with a 9-tooth chromoly, 3 pawl, double bearing driver and a 3/8″ threaded female that is laced the 333 double-wall pinned rim with 183mm 14 gauge spokes. The 333 cassette wheel is available in black, blue and red anodized with a weight of 2 lbs. 10.1 oz.

You can pick the wheel up on Dan’s Comp for $139.99 or have your local shop in the U.S call Greenhouse Distribution to have you one ordered up.

You can find out more about Cinema on their website — CinemaWheelCo.com.

Are you looking to get your hands on some new grips? Take a look at Sam Lowe’s signature grip from Wethepeople. Sam wanted a longer and thinner grip that had a sticky feel. You can also find a ribbed pattern with Sam’s signature, no flanges and plastic plug bar ends. The grip is available in cyan blue, black, gold and white and should be hitting shops everywhere Wethepeople is available soon.

The grip is currently unavailable online. Have your local shop hit up Seattle Bike Supply here in the U.S to see if they can get you a pair.

You can find out more about Wethepeople by visiting their website — Wethepeople.de.

Time to replace that sprocket? Here’s a look at Mutant Bikes Caravela sprocket. This CNC machined 7075-T6 aluminum sprocket is 6.5mm thick and fits all spindle sizes. The Caravela is available in 25 and 28-tooth options. The 25-tooth features one crank mounting hole, but the 28-tooth features 4 different crank hole mounts. You can pick this up in anodized black, red, gold, purple, light blue and powder coat white with a weight of 2.08 oz. (25t) and 2.75 oz. (28t).

These will be available here in the U.S through QBP here in the U.S in a few weeks. Here’s a list of Distributors outside of the U.S.

You can find out more about Mutant Bikes on their website — MutantBikes.com.

Madera have recently made the addition of their new heat-treated Protocol cranks. These 4130 chromoly arms are swaged, which means they are forged to create a stronger design, then get a full heat-treating process to finish things off creating stronger arms that will hold up to anything you can throw at them. Along with this new heat-treating process, they are offering a limited lifetime warranty that covers cracking and bending of the arms and spindle. These cranks come with a 19mm 48-spline GDH spindle.
The HT Protocol cranks are available in 175 and 180mm length with right and left hand drive options and matte black with more color options coming down the line.

You can pick these up from Dan’s Comp for $142.99, direct from Madera for $149.99 (more options) or have your local shop call up Profile Racing to get you a set ordered up.

You can find out more about Madera by visiting their website — MaderaBMX.net.

Anyone that has had the chance to meet Cooper Brownlee knows that he’s constantly on the move whether it is managing projects for Colony and Division Brand, creating the next issue of Focalpoint, filming, editing and shooting photos. Don’t forget he’s also damn good on a bike. It makes sense that they named his signature bars from Colony the Twenty Four Seven bars. These fully post weld heat-treated chromoly bars feature a rise of 8.9″, 29.5″ width, 12-degrees of backsweep and 1-degree of upsweep with a weight of 1.88 lbs. (855g). The Twenty Four Seven bars are available color options of matte black, gloss white, Rising blue, matte red, Bright purple and chrome.

You can pick these bars up on Dan’s Comp for $74.99 – $84.99 or you can have your local shop here in the U.S call up Sidewall Distribution to order some up.

You can find out more about Colony on their website — ColonyBMX.com.au.
