Products: Vol. X

June 23, 2012

Well, here it is. The 10th edition of Products:! Where has time been going? It feels like we just started doing this column every Saturday like a month ago, but I guess not! We might as well not stop a good thing going, right? This week you can get a closer look at the new Fit Bike Co. 24mm Indent cranks, Seth Kimbrough’s signature Hoffman Bama fork, Mark Potoczny’s signautre PA Model frame from Deluxe, the Tungsten rear wheel from Cinema Wheel Co. and the Victory bars from Sunday. Let’s take a peek!

This past week, Fit Bike Co. released their new 24mm Indent cranks. These tubular 4130 arms have a concaved design which increases strength and dent resistance and the arms slide on to a 24mm hollow chromoly spindle. This is unique because pretty much every other set of cranks on the market currently feature a 19mm or 22mm spindle. The larger diameter increases the strength of the spindle. The cranks also feature right and left hand compatibility and comes with a 24mm bottom bracket. The Indent cranks come in sizes of 165mm, 170mm and 175mm with colors of black, white and chrome and a weight of 30.85 oz. (175mm).

These should be hitting online mailorders and shops that carry Fit soon. Have your local shop hit up The Building here in the U.S to get yourself a set ordered up!

You can find out more about FIT on their website — FitBikeCo.com

For 2012, Seth Kimbrough wanted to change the design up with his signature Bama fork from Hoffman. This 100% heat-treated 4130 chromoly fork features a 163mm 1-piece CNC machined steerer tube, a 26mm offset, an integrated headset race, single butted and tapered legs, 4mm CNC machined 3/8th’s drop outs and an alloy Hoffman top cap. The Bama forks come in black, raw with red clear coat, raw with blue clear coat, ED purple and chrome plated and a weight of 32 oz.

You can pick up the Bama fork on Dan’s Comp for $122.99 – $129.99 or on Sidewall Action Sports for $122.99 or you can have your local shop hit up Sidewall Distribution to get you one ordered up.

There should be no doubt in your mind that Mark Potoczny is an awesome dude on and off the bike. That has lead to an awesome signature frame from Deluxe. The PA Model is a full Seamless Japanese 4130 chromoly frame that has a 74-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.5″ bottom bracket height and three different rear end and top tube length options. The Large comes in 20.70″ with a 13.75″ chain stay length, the XL has a 21″ top tube length with a 13.8″ chainstay length and the XXL comes with a 21.5″ top tube length and a 14.1″ chain stay length. The frame also features a double-butted top tube and ovalized down tube, a butted seat tube, a gusset on the down tube, a heat-treated mid bottom bracket, heat-treated 4mm thick drop outs, seat stay brake mounts and unique dome end stays. The PA Model will be available in olive, clear coat and chrome plated with a weight of 4.6 lbs.

Mark’s signature frame is due out real soon, so keep your eyes open for it. Hopefully they will be able to announce their new U.S distributor soon too!

If you are in the market for a new cassette wheel, I’d suggest taking a look at the Cinema Wheel Co. Tungsten wheel. The wheel has a 36-hole 6061 aluminum hub shell with a chromoly 9-tooth, 4-pawl driver and a 14mm chromoly axle that is laced to a Cinema 777 double-wall welded rim with 185mm spokes. The Tungsten wheel is available in right and left hand drive versions with Aqua anodized, black anodized, chrome plated, purple anodized, red anodized, white painted and yellow anodized for color options with a weight of 2 lbs. 11.7 oz.

I’ve been personally running this wheel for well over a year now and it’s been holding up great. I’ve really had no real issues with it at all.

You can pick one of these wheels up on Dan’s Comp for $189.99 or have your local shop hit up Greenhouse Distribution to get yourself one ordered up.

These bars also have the black magic rust proof coating applied before painting. The Victory bars are available in blue wave, black magic, white, purple, watermelon and Ketchup red with a weight of 1.62 lbs.
