Products: Vol. XI

June 30, 2012

Another week down, another week with a look at a few fresh products for you to blow your paycheck for the week on! This time around we’re going to take a closer look at Eclat‘s Plaza pedal, Colony‘s Variant stem, Profile‘s Totem hub, Tree Bicycle Co.‘s Ergo seat and The Shadow Conspiracy‘s new Back To School apparel line. Let’s get into this!

These days, there are a lot of options out there as far as pedals go. If you are a fan of the plastic pedals and you happen to be looking around for a new set, maybe it would be a good time to give the Eclat Plaza pedals. These injection molded Nylon and Fiberglass mixed pedals are designed with a wider body than most pedals on the market giving you more surface area to get your feet right where you want them. The pedals also feature knurling for extra grip, a chromoly spindle and loose ball bearings. The Plaza pedal comes in colors of black, orange, midnight teal and warm grey with a weight of 14.22oz (403 grams).

You can pick the Plaza pedal up on Dan’s Comp for $19.99 or you can have your local shop here in the U.S order you up a pair through Seattle Bike Supply.

Looking for a stem that gives you a little more height and has a clean look? Have you checked out Colony‘s Variant topload stem? This fully CNC machined 7075-T6 stem features a 32mm stack height, 23mm rise (upright) or a 9mm rise (inverted) and a reach of 52mm. The Variant features a classic 4 bolt top plate and two pinch bolts with extra machining in spots to help save weight. The stem comes in colors of black, blue, purple, gold and polished with a weight of 9.3 oz.

You can pick the Variant stem up through Dan’s Comp for $82.99, direct from Colony for $80.00 *Aus* or you can have your local shop here in the U.S hit up Sidewall Distribution to get you one ordered up.

There’s no doubt that everything Tree Bicycle Co. produces has a purpose. In this case, their Ergo seat was designed to be more than just a padded piece of plastic for you to drop your ass on every now and then. This pivotal seat has a ergonomic design to contour leaving a more comfortable feel. It also features a micro-fiber cover, a holly 6mm allen bolt and color options of black, white and brown. The Ergo seat weighs in at 9.7 oz. (272 grams).

You can pick up one of these seats from Dan’s Comp for $40.99 or you can have your local shop here in the U.S hit up Blackout Distribution or QBP to get you one ordered up.

If your cassette has seen better days and you’re over trying to rebuild it, maybe you’re due for some American made quality. The Totem hub from Profile Racing features a slim 2024 aluminum shell, a chromoly 1-piece driver with 4 sealed bearings and 4-pawl engagement, two sealed bearings and color matching cones. The Totem is available in either a 14mm chromoly axle or a an aluminum 3/8th’s female axle. The hub is available in colors of black, red and gun metal silver with a weight of 16.25 oz. There’s no such thing as ever having too much clothes and accessories. It’s always cool to have some fresh threads and you know the ladies are digging it. The other day The Shadow Conspiracy released this flip book featuring their new t-shirts, sweat shirts, coat, dress shirts, pants, hats, socks, belts, wallet and back packs to get you prepared for back to school season that will be upon on before you know it. If you aren’t in school, well, it’ll be a good time for you to get cleaned up for the real world!

The release date for this wasn’t announced, but I’d imagine they are taking pre-orders through Sparky’s Distribution now for the release in the next few months. These items will also be available through Dan’s Comp as well!
