Andre Fowkes is one of those riders from the U.K that I didn’t really know a lot about, but was always curious about when he would pop up in edits and everything. His riding was always on point and he seemed to be real stoked on BMX and that’s damn near the only credentials needed to get my attention. The other day, our U.K contributor, Tom Halliwell, sent through a couple photos and a quick interview he put together with Andre that I’m real stoked on. So here’s your chance to find out what this dude is all about along with some real good photos and a couple of Andre’s edits!

You’ve been with Kis since day one, I remember seeing the pics of the proto frame you got just after welding, how did all that come about?
Yeah, I guess I have haha. Well, I think it came about when Alex (owner of Kis) messaged me saying that he wanted to make some frames and if I’d be interested in trying to “break” one… I love breaking stuff so I said hell yeah!… 3 years later I’m still having a go, haha!
P.S trying to answer questions while a kitten clings to your head is distracting.
How are things going over there, anything cool and exciting coming out soon?
Things are going good. Alex is a cool guy to work with and always welcomes input on the products and the company as a whole, which is making us go from strength to strength with each product we produce. The 2013 stuff is looking dope and I can’t wait to get my hands on some of that!
There’s a couple of products I’m really excited to see, but I ain’t gonna say anything else!
How are things going up in Scotland? It’s been over a year since you deserted me I think! Everyone at 20Twenty seems awesome.
COLD, haha. I’m deffo a pussy when it comes to weather conditions! I’m sorry I didn’t mean to leave you all alone with so many delinquents around but getting the chance to work in a skatepark doesn’t happen often, so why not take it?! Yeah man everyone at the shop is great! Couldn’t ask for a better shop sponsor. Mingo is the man! They’re constantly putting on events and always willing to help out the kidda’s which is a great thing to see. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL FO SHO!
If someone offered you a Trans Am or a trip to Italy to eat loads of pizza and look at Italian ladies for a month or three, which would you take?
TRANS AM hands down, it’d have to be a 1972 or a 78 though! Then I’d get some lads and road trip to Italy whoop whoop!
If you could liken your riding style to an animal which one would it be and why?
Hahaha, fuck this is a tough one! A crow I’d say not always the most elegant but they’re fun to watch and they always seem to be having a good ol’ time! Some days I feel like a buffalo with one short leg though ahaa.
If you were offered the gift of flying but couldn’t ride your bike any more would you take it?
NO NO NO
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would it be, why and what would you take with you?
It’s going to have to be Austin Texas, I don’t think I’ve liked anywhere else as much as that place. There’s always something to do and the people are the fuckin raddest and everyone is so friendly… There’s also no chavs! I’d take some clothes and my bike. I don’t think I’d need much else would I?
I always put a thing for thanks on the end and I’m not sure why, guess it’s because everyone else does. Wanna thank anyone?
