There’s been a lot of different things popping up with Biz lately from his part in the Demolition “Last Chance” video, making the move over to Verde and spending a ton of time on the road this summer with DC. It was definitely time to hit up Ryan and find out what’s new with him. Let’s take a look at what he had to say…

Years riding: I have been jumping my bike since I was 4, but didn’t start following the sport until I was 12.
What was it that first got you into BMX? Any random early memories just come to mind?
I got into because my brother and his friends would jump their bikes. As far back as I can remember, I have always been on a bike.
You made the switch over to Verde a bit ago now. How has the transition from Volume to Verde gone? Was the decision to leave Volume after all these years hard or was it just time to change things up for you?
The change was easy for me because I have been friends with the Verde guys for a long time now. It wasn’t like I was going into something and not knowing what to expect, but leaving Volume was for sure a tough decision; just being apart of a company for so long always makes it tough.
What do you have going on with Verde so far? Do you have any signature goods, trips, edits, or anything like that in the works? Have you been filming at all for a video part or anything?
I talked to will today and we are going to do a trip soon. We are also working on a frame and bar but that stuff takes a while. I am not to sure whats going on with the Greenhouse video, but I have been stacking clips here an there to be used for something. We will see what happens.

Your part in the Demolition video came out real good. How do you feel about it? Has it been weird not having that project lingering in the back of your head of what to film next anymore?
Thanks, Kurt! I was pretty psyched on it and as with every part you film there is always more you wish you could have done. Overall, I am happy with it. When you’re filming for a DVD it is for sure motivating to get out there and film, and then when I don’t have that, I definetly find it harder for myself to get motivated to film when I don’t have a set project going on.
What else does Brian have in the works with you and the rest of the Demolition crew?
They are doing a big camping trip within the next couple weeks, but I skipped out on that one. I am more of a hotel person, haha. Other than that, I think we are looking into doing a freecoaster for me so I am psyched on that.
How are things going with DC these days? What did you think of the Roughing It tour? Do you have anything else cooking with them for the rest of the summer?
DC is amazing. The roughing it tour was hands down one of the most fun trips I have ever been on, from staying in 5 star hotels in Hollywood to shooting machine guns in the moutains, our TM, Mike, knows how to show us a good time. I think we might be doing an east coast tour but I am not to sure yet, so keep an eye out for that.
Any other sponsor news you have for us?
As for Hart and Huntington, the clothing sponsor I ride for, we might be doing some color way stuff, but that’s still up in the air, so we will see.
Outside of the projects with your sponsors, have you been filming for any web edits or any videos that we will be able to check out soon?
Not really. Like I said earlier, I am just stacking clips at the moment to be used whenever.
Do you have any trips in the works outside of stuff for your sponsors? Looking to get anywhere you haven’t been yet?
I will be heading back to boston soon to hangout with my family and ride a little bit while I am there. That’s about it for my own trips.
Where have you been riding the most these days? Any spots in particular you have been psyched on?
This summer has been pretty busy so far on trips, so when I am home I mostly ride with Jason Enns and Dave Dillewaard. We just hit the local schools and parks. Just chill and have fun.

I’ve always wondered what’s the one trick you have never been able to do over all of the years you have been riding?
I can’t do anything on the front wheel; hang 5’s, nose manuals, hang nothing’s. They’re all out of the question for me.
Let’s say you get a fat budget and a van to take a trip, but you can only bring five riders, one filmer and one photographer. Who do you bring, where do you go and why?
Chris Doyle, Jason Enns, Edwin DeLarosa, Rooftop, Dillewaard. Keith Mulligan for photos and Glenn PP Milligan for video. I’d say anywhere around Europe would be good. I like going to places that are really different from home.
What have you been up to when you aren’t on the road or riding these days? Any new hobbies you have been getting into?
I don’t have many hobbies, but when you live in southern California there is always events going on for something out here. I will go to that stuff and mostly just chill with my lady.
What are 3 things that get you psyched?
Good news, good friends and no stress.
What are some of the things you would like to accomplish in the next year?
I’d like to put out an internet video that I can be happy with and bowl over 200.
How’s the Twitter game going for you these days? Who are some of your favorite people to follow? What’s your link?
I always read Twitter, but I go through phases on my tweeting. Sometimes I am on it and sometimes I do nothing. Breaking news is a good follow and Catfish never lets me down with his tweets. @BizJordan
What’s the last song you heard, movie you watched and website you visited?
Pretty sure it was a Metalica song when I was driving home, last movie was Erin Brockovich and website would be Facebook.
What’s something about yourself that might surprise people?
I can remember being born.
