Sean has been all over lately with upgrading Bone Deth to full on bike brand, getting some signature goodies with Eclat, a siganture colorway with Osiris and more. He has also been healing up from a messed up wrist, so I figured it would be a good time to catch up with the guy and find out what he has cooking these days. Take a look at what he had to say!

Name: Sean Burns

Sponsors: Bone Deth, Eclat, Osiris and Lip-Service

How are things going with Bone Deth these days? I see you guys have been dropping a bunch of new product and in general kicking ass. Do you have any team trips, new videos or anything like that in the works?
Bone Deth is at its top best in its entire time of existence right now. We’re constantly working on new stuff, products, commercials, partying and getting weird. A lot of the team riders have been putting in some work for Chris Crawfords video that he’s working on titled “ROTTEN”, some stuff for 90East, Banned, and OLP. We’re slowly beginning another Bone Deth DVD but no deadline as of yet… probably 2014, hahah.

How are things with éclat going? I’d imagine your signature stem and grips are out now? Do you have any trips or anything in the works with them?
Eclat is the sickest. Sick cunts. For real, I feel so lucky to be a part of it. I broke bike parts for years and was always stressed about losing my face or my dick because my cranks would snap or wheels blow up, but the shit is so solid. I don’t worry anymore. Yeah, my stem and grips are out now.. pretty hyped on the outcome. The bike these days is a babe, no more token masturbator shittyness. If you’ve known me for years, you know I always had a junk of shit and now it’s become fine dinning every day. We’re actually doing a team Eclat trip in Atlanta in the end of June or early July. It’ll be sweets to hang with the crew.

What’s new with Osiris? Do you have anything going on with them?
Osiris baby, yeah they are keeping things rolling. It’s pretty awesome. I have a signature colorway shoe coming out with them. I think it comes out in July or so. It has action sports leather with a dark burgundy and black pin stripes on the inside. It’s a simple looking shoe, nothing too flashy, but I think it’s rad. We just did a team trip that was damn fun! It was a good kick in the mouth. 1000 geenz. I think theres a lengthy commercial or edit coming soon from it.

Any other sponsor news you can tell us about?
Lip-Service hooks up the jeans from Lip-Service and Kill City. It’s pretty much the best sponsor ever for getting free jeans! I fall on my ass a lot so it’s good to have a rad supply of good stitches. If your looking for good denim stretch check them out Lip-Service.com.

This past year has been pretty wild for you with turning Bone Deth into a brand with frames, bars, sprockets and pegs. Has it been hard handling the business side and still killing it on your bike?
No, not at all. With the help of the team and Bone Deth part owner Shajn Raines aka “Ferbert” we get shit done. Ferbert kills it on the bike and in the office as well. It’s a good system we have going. Sparky’s do their part and make it solid as fuck.
I couldn’t be any happier with the way it’s coming along. I still have plenty of time to ride. I actually always go through minor injuries that keep me down for a few days to a few weeks through out the year so it’s good time for business boogers.

Does running the brand cut into riding time at all or is it something where you have a good crew to get things done so you can ride?
Mostly Ferbert, Alex Liiv, and I do the Bone Deth business. So, it evens out pretty well. Especially with help from the team. I still have plenty of time to ride. Party Management manages the party and takes the stress off of having visitors in town.

Your part in Anthem II was absolutely nuts. Have you been filming for any other video parts or web videos at all? When can we expect to see some more of you?
Thanks man! Web videos just kind of fall into play whenever. I don’t really try to focus on them too much. The video parts are what I’m mainly focused and motivated for. Web stuff is just filmed as you go, ya know? Having too many projects at once is overwhelming so I take it a day at a time. I never think a web video should be up to par with your highest level of riding, that’s for the DVD. As far as video parts… Albie Bennett and myself are filming a split part for ROTTEN, and beginning my next Bone Deth part. I’m sure there will be Eclat and Osiris shit I’ll do this year. My wrist has been Von Boogie batted out for the past 4 weeks, but it’s about 90 percent healed up. I’ll hopefully be getting back on ship any day now.

What’s your travel schedule looking like for the summer? Any trips you are looking forward to?
This Eclat trip is what I’m looking forward to big time. I’ve yet to be on an Eclat trip, so it’s def past due for one. We’re always doing little Bone Deth trips. Those are the funnest. I got Bone Deth australian riders Jamie Mauri and Jay Wilson here with me all summer so we’ll be getting weird around the northeast this summer, possibly Portland as well.

Now that the weather is in full melt down mode, where have you been riding most? Any spots you have been real into?
I haven’t been able to ride too much with my bad wrist since it has been so diaper humidity air out. Just around Boston I suppose. A lots of Somerville since Lino opened the 90East shop over there.

Outside of riding and handling Bone Deth, what are you up to? I think last time I did an interview with you, you were working at a tanning salon, haha.
Not anything too weird. I have been keeping busyhunting down weirdo freaks and girls for Bone Deth stuff, and on the side finding girls for a bondage web site that I get royalties on every time I find them a new girl. It’s only every now and then but it’s something good to get smacked in the face for or make some extra cash.

What’s the last song you heard, movie you watched and website you visited?
The Slugs – Problem Child, Terror Vision, eclatbmx.com

Anything else you want to say?
Pick it, lick it, and stick it.
Thanks to Osiris, Eclat, the Bone team and you for the interview.
Beaaaaat itttt
