Quicky: Tony Malouf

There’s no doubt that Tony Malouf is one of those guys who is always on the move. Some how even getting hit by a car doesn’t slow him down. I figured between doing hood slides, all of the trips, his signature frame that’s due out this week, all of the edits he has been pushing out lately and everything that it would be a good time to catch up with the dude and find out what’s going on in his life. Check out what he had to say!

Name: Tony Malouf

Location: Prospect Heights, IL

Sponsors: BSD, The Gully Factory, Lotek, ODI grips, Alienation, DUB, RAWr Superfoods, 4 Seasons Skatepark

Years riding: 11 or 12

So word about your signature frame from BSD surfaced at Interbike. How long have you been working on The Beverage now? When will it be out?
We worked on the frame for a long time. Over a year. It should be out this week. A couple of places already have them.

Check out more photos of the frame right here.

Other than your frame, what does Grant have cooking for you with BSD? Any trips or anything cool like that, that you are getting ready for?
Got a signature shirt coming out to go along with the frame and David and I will be out west for the winter staying warm.

You recently joined the Alienation team. How did that all come about? Do you have any trips, videos, signature parts or anything coming up for them?
The homie Micah Kranz recently joined their crew over there and got me on board. We haven’t done any trips yet but we do have some signature stuff in the works.

How have things been going with Lotek? Have you been working on anything with Rich lately?
It’s been okay. I haven’t actually spoke to him in a while.

Any other sponsor news you can tell us about?
Still looking for that Swisher hook up!

So you have been on the move pretty heavy for a while now. Where have you been this past summer?
Somewhat, yeah. I’ve been getting hurt all fuckin year. But over the summer I spent nearly 2 months in Glasgow, Scotland with the BSD fam. Tons of trips here and there around the States. Most recently an ODI trip to Phoenix.

Do you have any trips in the works to get out of Chicago for the winter?
DUH! DBG, Wescott and myself took off the day after Thanksgiving for the south.

When can we expect a fresh edit out of you? I feel like it has been a minute.
Yeah, I forget what the last piece was. But you can expect one very soon. Like December soon if I can heal up from this bull shit injury I’m currently fuckin with.

Tony heat-treating his hip.

Speaking of bull shit injuries, a car hit you a while back, right? Have you healed up from that all the way yet? How did that all go down anyways?
Yeah, it was one of the craziest moments in my life. Fuckin’ got sent! Healed up from that while over in Scotland this summer. But my hip is fucked for life I’m pretty sure.

I know your name pops up in the filmed and edited credit line all the time. Who have you been working on edits for these days?
1,000 Beans, Alienation, Ketch Bikes, Lotek, Madera, Sun Ringle, Verde, Woozy, ODI and the list goes on.

What have you been getting into when you are riding or working on a video these days? Anything you have been real stoked on lately?
Always stayin up on movies. Watching Notorious right ney! Watch skate videos. Buck hunt, aka find spots. Cook, stretch, smoke and generally just loke out.

It seems like you always have some pretty crazy shit happen to you. Have you been caught up in any sketchy situations lately?
Fuckin tell me about it. Not really actually. Almost missed a flight a few weeks ago because the security guard didn’t know Tony was short for Anthony.

What’s the last song you heard, movie you watched and website you visited?
“People get ready” – Curtis Mayfield, watched ‘True Romance’ before Notorious and was just on Bakerboysdist.com

Care to something about yourself that might surprise people? I’m a fucking beast at Karaoke

Anything else you want to say?
The dude who plays Puffy in Notorious is fuckin hilarious.
