Skatepark of Tampa Fourth Annual Roast Jam

Here’s another look at what went down at this years SPOT Roast contest. Don’t forget to check out the video we dropped a little while back right here after this one.

The fourth Annual SPoT Roast went down in late December at the Skatepark of Tampa (SPoT). I hadn’t been to the legendary SPoT in about 12 years, so I was pretty stoked to go back. Profile’s Matt Coplon put together a pretty amazing weekend including a bowl jam, multi-age am and pro park contest, BBQ, and an afterparty at The Bricks in Ybor City. A lot more people showed up than were expected, which wasn’t a problem since the SPoT is designed for huge crowds. With elevated bleachers surrounding the course, an outdoor courtyard, a massive vert ramp, plus a separate building holding the bowl and another street course, there was plenty of room for everyone. Everything ran smooth and the contestants seemed to be pretty happy about the massive amounts of prizes donated by Profile, Shadow, Subrosa and Vans, along with a host of other BMX brands.

SPoT Roast was the first stop of the Florida BMX Skatepark Series Dave Brumlow put together. BMX in Florida is always a good time so check out the other upcoming dates 1/12 Orlando Skatepark, 2/16 Paradise Funplex, 3/16 COA Pro, and 4/13 Kona.
