February 23, 2023

Steve Kennedy’s Vult “456” section from 2006 is now online!

Here’s another gem from the Vult “456” video from 2006 for you to enjoy. This time around we get a look at Steve Kennedy‘s section that’s packed with a ton of great ramp riding. Unfortunately Steve died back in 2016 when he was struck by a car walking, but we’re sure he would still be crushing it on a bike today if he was still with us!

Although Hiroshi Uehara’s name might not be all too familiar to many of you, he is definitely one person in BMX doing things on his own terms and making it work! Head over to The Hundreds for a feature on Hiroshi, his streetwear clothing brand and retail store front in Japan and how he connects flatland BMX into the mix. It’s a great read and insightful if you’re interested in business.

Out Of Focus: Top 3 – Backpacks

July 24, 2014

Words and photos by Aaron Nardi

I guess I would consider myself somewhat of a bag and backpack nerd. I’ve designed, used, researched, purchased, traveled heavily, and destroyed more bags than most people. My personal preferences tend to favor function and value over a cool look (although I have to say I like the look of all the bags below). So yes there are other options out there and some might be cooler, bigger, or offer more protection for one reason or another these are the bags I always come back to*. Beyond just function and style probably my favorite part about this bag that they are a little stealth and don’t scream “I HAVE EXPENSIVE SHIT IN HERE” like most tech and camera bags do…

Out of Focus – Kuala Lumpur

July 10, 2014

kl-petronas-night_600x

Aaron Nardi is one of those guys in BMX that is lucky enough to travel all over the world filming and taking photos for different projects. During a lot of those trips, there ends up being a lot of extra footage and photos that go unseen! Instead of letting it all go to waste, we figured it would be rad to drop those extras online for you guys to check out! For the first round of Out of Focus, Aaron had a TON of photos leftover from the trip to Kuala Lumpur that he took with Todd Lyons for a video for ESPN BMX that you can check out after the jump! After you watch the video, check out a few select photos along with the stories that go with them below, then check out a FULL PHOTOGALLERY filled with even more photos!
