Sneak Peek: GT – 4-Piece Bars

We woke up to an interesting photo in the Facebook feed this morning. Ben Ward, GT Bicycles new BMX team manager / product developer / all around good dude, posted up a little sneak peek photo of some bars that he is showing off at the Taipei Bicycle Show this week. The bars are based off their original iconic 4-piece bars that a lot of you older guys know and love! We asked Ben for some details on the specs, but he wasn’t able to give us any specific details just yet as far as specs or a release date goes… Based off the photo it does appear that they will be available in black and chrome and will come with more modern geometry as far as sizing goes. Release date? If they’re showing these off like this… Our guess is within the year.

So, if you could pick the geometry for these; rise, width, backsweep and upsweep, what would your ideal dimensions be for these bad boys? Let us know in the comments!

Product: Volume – Broc Raiford Captain Bars

Is it time for some new bars? Well, Broc Raiford’s signature Captain bars from Volume will be dropping here this month! These full 4130 chromoly bars feature a 9″ or 9.25″ rise, 28.5″ width, 10-degrees of backsweep, 2-degrees of upsweep, a crossbar height of 6.75″ and a crossbar width of 11.3″. They will be available in colors of flat black, black and white splatter and chrome with a weight of 33.5 oz. These look like some dialed BMX bars to us.

The Daily Grind – Century High Bar Promo

The Daily Grind dropped this new promo for their Century High bars featuring Greg Goldberg, Jake Coulson, Troy Merkle and Jon Bechtold putting them to good use out in the streets. These American made four-piece bars feature an 8.85″ rise, 28.25″ width, 10-degrees of backsweep and 1-degree of upsweep with colors of black or raw.

These bars are made from straight gauge .083″ wall 4130 chromoly tubing with a 9″ rise, 29″ width, 12-degrees of backsweep and 2-degrees of up sweep. These bars feature large radius bends for increased strength and are made right here in the U.S.A! The Vandlebar is available in flat black, chrome and gloss clear with a weight of 2.6 lbs. though all shops and mail-orders that carry Fit Bike Co. now.

Sneak Peek: Wethepeople – Sterling 4-Piece Bars

Here’s a little gem we caught floating around on Facebook. It looks like Pete Sawyer has his own signature 4-piece Sterling bars in the works that work off a tweaked geometry of his 2-piece bars currently available from Wethepeople. These bars will be dropping later this year and feature a rise of 9.5″, 29″ width, 4-degrees of upsweep and 11-degrees of backsweep! Expect more details closer to the release!
