Subrosa Big Bitchin BMX Cranks

There’s no denying that with all of the progression of BMX, there’s been a lot of focus on making putting strength in products where it counts. One of the things we have seen a lot these past two years or so are more brands offering beefier and larger cranks that are designed to take on the heavy drops and abuse that they’re being put through on street, ramps and trails. We have seen a big resurgence of 22mm cranks, along with a few giving the 24mm spindle size a go. One option that will be hitting shops in March are the new Big Bitchin’ cranks from Subrosa that are a larger, more bitchin’ version of their original Bitchin’ cranks that have been available in a 19mm version for a few years now. With them being just a few weeks out from release, we figured it would be a good time to take a closer look! Let’s do this!

Product: Mutiny – Cinch Cranks

With 2015 rolling around, we’ve made a few changes that we feel will make the site better and more quality than before. Once instance of that, that you can expect to see quite a bit are more product related posts giving you a closer look at quality products we’re stoked on. For example, the Mutiny Bikes Cinch cranks that received a few changes recently.

The Cinch cranks use a clean 2.5 piece design that start out with heat-treated 100% 4130 chromoly 175mm long rectangular arms that are bossless to work specifically with spline drive sprockets and have custom Investment Cast oversized spindle bosses for increased strength. The 22mm, 48-spline spindle is made from 100% 4130 chromoly with a flush mount 8mm chromoly hex bolt to keep the arms tight.

The Cinch cranks are available in right or left side drive and can also be purchased as a kit with Mutiny’s Pentra sprocket that comes in sizes of 25, 28 and 30 tooth sizes. They retail for around $159.99 for just the cranks and $184.99 for the cranks and sprocket!

Profile Racing – Production Insight: 22mm Column Cranks

Profile Racing‘s 22mm Column Cranks have been out for a while and a lot of people have been putting them to heavy use. Profile dropped this fresh video giving you a look at how they’re made along with some riding that the team and some of their friends have been getting with them! Check it!

“Profile’s 22mm Column cranks are made in the USA, in our factory here in St. Pete, Florida.
Here’s a little insight on part of the production process: Milling and tack welding of pedal and spindle bosses.

Product: Mankind – Nexus Cranks

The other day, Mankind dropped their new website and we spotted a few new items that they released along with that. One of the items was their new Nexus cranks. These cranks start out with 175mm fully heat-treated 4130 chromoly arms with a 22mm, 48-spline hollow chromoly spindle. These cranks come in two versions; bolt drive with two sprocket bolt holes (left and right side compatible) and spline drive, with colors of oil slick, matte black and chrome and a weight of 30.97 oz. (bolt drive) and 30.61 oz. (spline drive). You can find out more about these cranks and Mankind’s other new products by visiting their website!
